This commission is WAY overdue. I mean, I was given this thing, what, 6 MONTHS AGO! I feel REAL bad about how long it took, but school got in the way. I didn't have any time. What's more, my inking pens are dead, so I couldn't really finish it. However, I didn't want to make my commissioner wait any longer so I'm posting the sketch, just so that he knows I haven't forgotten him and I am indeed working on it. Speaking of which, this commission is for and, sadly, it'll be my last for a while. That's right, I'm permanently closing commissions until further notice. To all those who I said I would think about it, that is now a "no." You guys have given me some cool, fun ideas to work on, stuff I never would have done otherwise, but I have too many ideas in my head that I need to put on paper. I'm sorry, I just can't take anymore. I wouldn't want to disappoint more people by saying I will and then not.Anyways, onto the actual picture! This was an interesting match up, a brawl between two incarnations of Godzilla, the old-school 1964 Mothra VS Godzilla model and the less-than-godly Zilla from 1998's Godzilla, a name that will never quite fit. Anyways, I think we all know who has the upper hand in this battle! Even in Godzilla's youth, when he wasn't the immovable, unstoppable and completely indestructible God of a monster he is today, Godzilla has always been a tough fighter and a strong opponent for any competitor. Zilla... not so much. I'm not sure where I came up with this pose, but I thought it was cool! Tail sweeps have always been Godzilla's go-to heavy attack! Even in the new film, Godzilla (2014), he uses this signature attack to end on of his deadly parasitic foes! We all saw that breathtaking scene! I work of beauty! But, of course, nothing can compare to how he ended the Female MUTO, THAT was beyond words AND expectation, which for me were very high!
Hope you guys all enjoy and you bet there will be more deviations to come... they'll just probably show up as sketches before finished products!

He is a damn legend, and he definitely deserves such a title! His art, as I said, is beyond phenomenal! I wouldn't doubt what you said, the amount of copy-cats I've seen for his art is unreal! But hey, even fairly good artists like myself need some inspiration, and he's the best place to get it from!

Zilla sucks but Zilla Jr. on the other hand not so much

Zilla Jr. was much more impressive than his father, but he still isn't all-that impressive as far as Daikaiju go. It's just not in his blood.

And MosuGoji wasn't the strongest of Godzilla incarnations either, not by a long shot, actually, but his strength, stamina and firepower are still far superior to that of Zilla. The only thing that Zilla will always have on Godzilla is speed... but since he's brought the beating to monsters like Mothra, Rodan, Megaguirus, and now the MUTOs, even that shouldn't be an issue for him.

With nothing strong enough to penetrate his hide, Zilla nor Zilla Jr. could really inflict any damage to Godzilla, so all they could do is have damage dealt to them and try and avoid it, but as Megaguirus taught us, with Godzilla there is only so long that you can evade, and when he hits, he hits HARD!!!

Well, sort of, but that was only when they worked together. Also, they may have been beating on him, but did it REALLY do that much damage? I mean, only the Female drew blood on one very minor occasion, he got back up almost immediately after they left and he hit back stronger than ever then. He really only started to look a little rusty AFTER he killed the Male, which was after he had fired his Atomic Breath, which seemed to take a lot out of him.

Just saw it again, never gets old! Actually, The MUTOs aren't that evil when you think about it. They are just animals that want to survive, like Godzilla. He just does it better!

Such a great character. He's really the only human character in the Godzilla Universe that anyone remembers... except maybe Miki from the Heisei era, but she's nothing in comparison to the genius of Dr. Daisuke Serizawa (and now Dr. Ishiro Serizawa!)

You don't have to, no one really likes him anyone! You know, honestly, his design is pretty cool, it's the fact that they called him "Godzilla" that pisses me off.

It's the fact that they used the name, but not the character. It would be like calling it PokΓ©mon and using Digimon. There is absolutely no connection, except for the fact that Zilla has spines and his roar is Godzilla's roar modified. But even then, his spines are literally just spikes, unlike Godzilla's, which are more like maple leaves, and his roar is just not as impressive. Not even close. They just aren't the same.
