Lovely. I would so love to be able to visit sites with this much history! My Grandfathers roots were from Coupar Angus so I feel an affinity with that part of Scotland even though I've never been Been to Gretna Green, Loch Ness and Robert the Bruce's Cave as a child but am now in far away Australia.

Hiya May, thanks for the comment.

Australia is a place I'd love to visit one day, I have family in Sydney and friends on the coast.

Am glad you like the pic.

I've been to Sydney once and found it a bit 'cityified' for my tastes, but I'm glad I've been. You have friends on the East Coast do you mean by 'coast'?

Oz is a beautiful land, but in my opinion the bottom half of the country is waaaay too cold in the winter LOL

Sydney is probably gonna be like most huge cities, New York, London etc, but still would be nice to see.
My friends live near Forresters Beach north of Sydney, so yes, East coast and my Gran lives in Bradbury, I think that's Campbelltown - ish. Even the names of the places sound cool. lol
You should come stay in Scotland for a winter, you'll be dreaming of going home soon enough LOL

I'd guess Sydney will be a bit smaller than those, but I haven't seen London since 1971 and never seen New York so your guess is as informed as mine

Ah yes. David and I drove in a hired campervan from Sydney to Brisbane so we passed Forresters Beach. We took a week for the drive but it would have been wonderful to spend 2 or more doing it instead. Ideally a month or so

Oh yes, we have some ripper town names that'll leave your tongue in a knot.

At least homes in the UK have central heating. The homes in most of Australia are built for the summer weather so come the cold (even our standards of it) they are not warm places to be. But then I'm too cold in anything under 12°C. You're allowed to laugh if you wish.

I live in the suburb of Kinross and all of our street names in this suburb are Scottish. I love it Dunfermline, Midlothian, Clydebank and Lochnagar etc etc.

I've only seen New York on TV etc, been to London Many times, Lived in Kings Lynne for a wee while too. Would hate to live in London or any big city now, am a country bumkin now.

Me Laugh? ok then just a little..... 12°C is like a warm summer day here! lol
Cool about the Scottish connection though. any actual Scots there?

I lived 11 years in High Wycombe (on the M somethingoranother so they all tell me) and 4 years in the Buckinghamshire countryside before moving to Oz. Country bumkin sounds the best spot of all to me!

12° is freezing, let me tell you

Yes, the couple across the road from me are Scottish. Not been here long because even their young son still has the accent and kids lose those really quickly!

Funnily enough, my grandad that I gained my Scottish blood through was surname Brown, but it was one of his maternal lines that were the Scots, not the actual Browns.

I lived in Big towns and cities for many years but for the past 9 in a small village and the difference is amazing. I wouldnt wanna go back to big city living.

As long as you have some Scottish BLood in you, your tops in my books!

Thank you, I am so very proud of my Scottish percentage. Other than that I'm pure blood 'over The Wall' and am not proud of that at all. War-mongering monsters throughout history in my opinion LOL

One of my uncles lived in a tiny secluded spot in Scotland, on the coast (*very* literally) down the bottom of a massive set of cliffs. I've no idea where it was because I've only seen photos, I lived in Oz before he moved there. From photos there seemed to only be about 12 houses and a pub and a few fishing boats. Would have been an incredile place - but probably not my taste in winter LOL
