In which Captain, sitting alone at a bar one night, having enjoyed a sample of warming whiskey for his daily troubles, suddenly unlocks his subconscious. He's utterly, shamefully, hopelessly in love with Skiff Eastport-Pram - the man he swore to protect. If Captain is the one that hurts Skiff, he'll never forgive himself. The two had been getting close through the coast guarding sessions, Captain wonders if they were too close. He attempts to limit any contact with Skiff for a few weeks after that, slowly becoming more desolate as he comes to realise that unlike his exes, his crushes, unlike Harold … he loves Skiff through and through. He'd do absolutely anything for him. Captain slowly stops the distance, vowing to remain professional, hiding the pain. And then the confession happens. Leading to the happy ending
