Trying to get back into drawing mode after GIANTENDOFTERMRESEARCHPAPER. What better way to regain sanity than FANART??I just finished the fifth season of Doctor Who. This is the first time that I've actually been caught up in time to watch a new series as it airs.
SO SOON.Admittedly, I was initially kind of leery about season 5. Didn't think I would enjoy it as much. Dunno, Matt Smith looked kind of... meh... and Amy looked like she'd be some sort of whiny prissy bitch. Luckily, Matt brought a whole new life to the character, and Amy is a rough, badass Scottish gal, and I dig that a lot. I really like Matt Smith; he has a quirky swagger and a great approach to the Doctor which is certainly his own. It was a really fun season.
Obviously they're still working out a few kinks; it would be nice if there was a liiiittle more connection to the previous seasons; but there was a nice, fresh approach to the show.
Moffatt was apparently in charge of, like, almost all of my all-time favourite episodes, so yeah.
OH and also Rory is the cutest best companion ever, EVER. Though maybe I'm partial to gangly, nosy, slightly neurotic beta males if you haven't gathered.

I still don't really like Amy very much as I find her a bit of a cliche, but I loveeeeeeeeeeed Matt and pariticularly Rory from the off. However it's brilliant finding someone else who likes Donna as much as me, a lo of people I know don't really like her.

I recognized everyone right away, except for...is that 10 under River? He goes so well with your style that he almost blends right in...so much that I didn't recognize him at first. If that makes ANY SENSE AT ALL.

I swore I wouldn't watch the new season. I didn't like it much at first, but after a while when it got going... yeah, ended up loving it. Especially the Vincent VanGogh episode.

That's an awesome Amy, River and Donna.
I miss Donna...I would have preferred her to die as she was (if they weren't going to fix it, that is), than to have been reverted back to her old self before she met the Doc. But then we may not have had Wilf and the Doc, which was awesome, too.

I'd say this looks like a successful jump back into drawing after research paper. But I find something off about Amy... I can't place it so it could be me...
Also, I don't know why I keep hearing hates for the new doctor (have you?) but i like what he's doing as well. He's a prick, but he's a prick with a good heart.

Exactly. I really like his approach (you can't help but love that Doctory douchery.) I think that the hate stems from the 'he's not Tennant' mentality. At least, that's my theory.

I'll admit, I stopped watching after Tennant went, my interest just subsided really in the program generally.
HOWEVER, doesn't mean I can't still love a good doodle, and heck it's even got Donna in there!

And yeah...I was certainly not sold on season 5 ahead of time, but once I started watching it, I really fell in love with it...a lot of times I feel like the writing/acting are kinna better than previous seasons. Even though I love previous seasons too.

Hes got a lot of #1's untrustworty, dark edge, but all of #4's confidence... with almost none of the charisma~
Hes also somewhat infamously disliked in his time, which I find rather unfair. He wasn;t tat pleasant, but he always helped folks, and never attacked but in self defense. he was just... quite willing to defend himself.
