Whoa.... whoa. That's weird.
See, I had this really weird dream last night. I was in a really old building (maybe an old townhouse) and looked across the old cobblestone street to see another row of townhouses. It was all dark and stormy, only the sky was this dark, deep purple. In the eye of the storm (and the center of the scene) the sky turned from purple to bright red as storm clouds swirled around this huge, dark, jagged, pointy, evil-looking mountain... But that's not really important. >.> The point is that I've been trying to find a good picture of houses or buildings to match the scene in my dream for a few hours now. Then I came here and saw this. [link] It looked just like that, only I was higher and could see over the roofs better, and there was no snow. Or street lights. 
Anyway. Nice sketches.

That dream sounds awesome
Actually, the history of this area/your dream go together in a weird sort of way. This is the Grassmarket area of Edinburgh. It was actually the traditional execution area of the city, so pretty bloody history. It sits in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle, which sits atop an ancient volcano.

oooh, this must've been so boring... i can never bring myself to do interior studies, which has stunted progress a lot. i should learn from results like these that the payoff must be having slayed the mundane; well done

I generally loathe doing these sorts of drawings too, but I gotta say, when you actually sit down and do them, they're sort of... fun. Maybe fun isn't the word, but... you can actually get into it lol. Just gotta find the right subject matter.

oh god these are fantastic. ohhh man your lines are so pretty oooh man! i don't even know which one is my favorite! god, i envy people who can make environments look stylized. then again, it might just be the way you do lines, but it looks stylized to me
