Description Another old painting I did following the style of German Artist William Alexander on PBS's Joy of Painting. in the 70's I spent many afternoons with the TV on in my studio learning to paint with William. FYI: When Alexander passed his prodigy Bob Ross took over the show.

Beautifully done Bill. I love the way you've done the foliage on the trees on the right. Do you remember what you used for that effect?

Thanks Ann. I used a simple 2" house brush and push the push in from the top edge of the brush. Then cleaned the brush and softly blended.

Wet on Wet technique (liquid white base coat)
tools: small palette knife
fan brush
2" house brush
liner brush

The house brush technique was refined and improved on
This one I coated the canvas with black Gesso and painted wet on wet. It allows for great blending.
