Description Princess Luna was by far one of the most entertaining to put together. I had a lot of fun illustrating this piece from start to finish. For starters, Luna's dress is sort of an inverted version of Celestia's own dress, with a dark blue color to match her pelt as a pony with black on the end with a pattern along the edges that resembles her cutie mark on her flank. Her hair was a challenge to figure out, but in the end I decided to go with something that resembled her hair from when she was a young filly as opposed to her adult mane. This was mainly because I couldn't figure out a way to recreate the luminescent star-studded flowing mane she has as a pony with the tools I had, but I also liked the idea of her hair being a simple but elegant blue.

Her frame I made to resemble stained glass, since her character has a gothic theme and stained glass was decently prominent in gothic architecture. The flowers in the corners of her frame are Moon Flowers, of course, which are thought to be opposite of Morning Glories, which of course represent daylight and the sun. I originally thought of having Morning Glories as Celestia's flower, but in the end I went with Lilies for hers but left Moon Flowers as Luna's own floral representation, since they fit her so well. I thought that their stark elegant beauty was a good match for our princess of the night.
