i always thought that drawing clothes in portraits is useless, how wrong could i be i'm trying my best, i'm glad you like it

it's indeed far from useless, the little pieces that show can enhance de quality of your portrait
I still strugle with clothing, I find it more difficult than faces.
But, I'm also trying my best

yup, head floating in the air isn't that awesome for a portrait concept unfortunately i used to struggle with clothes as well, i still do, but i can say, that you don't have to be precise - clothes are more like shadowing, than drawing hope it helps i'm still struggling with hair
hwaiting!

true... if the head has a kind of sketchy feeling to it, there is no need to be precise
but the more detailed and realistic the head, the more detailed you need to be with the clothing :/
but I also agree that most part is shadowing wrinkles and creases
And I know hair is a time-consuming occupation, I always work in 3 steps, first the basic wavy lines (as many as possible with HB pencil), then filling it up with charcoal powder and a dry brush, then adding dark parts with 6B and charcoal pencil and errasing lighter parts.
Anyways, your method is also working because I love the way you did Onew's hair...
art is more finding your own way that you feel confortable with
hwaiting !

charcoal powder and brush? i haven't heard of this before - is it easy? i might wanna try it
but ereasing highlight is a pain in the neck -_-;

This is how it looks [link] and with a soft layer of this in the hair it's easier to errase highlights because it removes more easily than graphite so that would solve your problem just apply with a soft make-up brush but be carefull, you need just a very tiny bit on the tip of the brush

^.^ if it could be any help, here you can see the powder and brush I did the facial shadowing with : [link]
I also highlighted the hair movement with it. Now I have to draw the hairlines and then lightly brush over it with this powder.

cieniujesz delikatnie twardym ołówkiem, rozcierasz, potem nakładasz ciemny miękki i znów rozcierasz
