It took some time to design a sufficiently epic looking dragon because dragons are generally awesome looking by default, but I think I pulled through enough to make a Dragon epic enough to be the almighty Dragon God!
Atarau is the All High God of all Dragons in my story, he is responsible for giving all dragons the 16 elemental powers: Light, Crystal, Wind, Wood, Poison, Sound, Ice, Water, Shadow, Phantom, Metal, Earth, Fear, Psionic, Lightning, and Fire. (bysthedragon.deviantart.com/ar… )
Atarau is associated with the Moon, Night, Time, Change, Cycles, Transformation, Wisdom, Knowledge, and Death. He has all 16 elemental powers, 32 Yin and Yang attributes, and the power to control the Aether.
The Dragons believe that the Moon is the home of Atarau and holds the gateway to the spirit world. Atarau's daughter Wairua helps guide the spirits of the deceased to the moon where they will spend 1000 years in the heavenly kingdom of the Moon serving under Atarau. Once their 1000 years of service is up then the gate will open for them and their spirits move on to the next life and then the cycle will repeat. Souls eventually reincarnate but they leave a momento of their past life in the spirit world, all memories and experiences stored in the branches of the tree of life.
