Charles I (Charlemagne), born in 742 was King of the Frankish Kingdom from 768 and emperor from 800 till his death in 814. Now, he is a renowned historical figure in medieval history and better known as the "Father of Europe", but an unknown fact about him is if he actually considered marrying the Byzantine empress Irene.
