ok so if you guys noticed i just really like sketching maria in dresses
idk why my art's been so lazy lately but i really apologise for lack of quality, really, this is poor lmfao

this was actually a concept sketch i did for the tumblr prom ask blog event (and it was based off a dress i saw nicki in <3)
i sadly never got to do the event on maria's ask blog but this would have been her t-prom dress (idk if it counts as a prom bc every1 is like 20+ lmfao but its that sort of setting+mood)

and i'd like to share one of her weird quirks while i'm here w/ this
as you know many people dress to prom in lighter colored dresses, or have something fun on them like jewels or do something special while keeping that mild adolescence
you see maria loves to draw attention to herself by the way she dresses, and it's not necessarily the amount of x or y in her style but it's the way she deciphers what to wear and when
maria at a professional setting: where traditionally people wear blacks & whites, she'll wear colors of traditional print clothes, brighter or easier to pick out, like a quetzal in a swan galore
maria at a setting meant to be semi-formal or like the prom: white & black, lots of gold, looks like a mafia boss' wife (almost like a rich boss' party kind of look isnt it?)
that's how she is in a world meeting vs. a prom (a setting that usually requires a sleek look vs. A setting that requires lightheartedness - to which she dresses the opposites)
as a small nation she is very desperate to be noticed and this is how she does it without speaking (clothes speak well themselves, dont they?)
