Description

Game: Ratchet and Clank: a Crack in Time
Scene: Clank breaks the cardinal rule of the great clock and turns back time by 6 minutes.

Grrrr!! All those damn patterns and stuff! X____X I am NOT a technical artist! sjxajsx asj,x ,s !!

I dunno if people have really talked about this before, but what I found interesting about this scene (besides all the FEELS and awesomeness of it) was that when Clank turns back time, he does not in fact travel with it. When time turns back and has a brief moment of hang-time before it kicks back into normal speed Clank is just as confused by what's going on as any-one else.

I like this idea because its a time-travel plot I've never seen done in this way before, it spares Clank of some emotional fears he might've developed from all this malarkey and it prevents awkward questions and conversations later.

But maybe he does actually remember and I've just talked a lot of rubbish XD

Clank is best friend.

Wow... for an artist who claims to be clumsy with technical details you pulled it off I know how you feel, they added so many details to every single thing XD Try drawing the Chronocepter for example.

I think your hunch is correct, it did seem as if Clank was trying to work out what was going on. He never had a freak out moment where he told Ratchet what happened, and Ratchet himself had no recollection. If Clank had traveled back, both of those things would have happened (commonly excepted rules of time travel and paradoxology). He just skipped the universe back 6 minutes, causing a ripple at that time in which is then self worked out what was about to happen. All actions in the universe would have started again with possibly different outcomes due to that. The clock prevents paradoxes after all... its not a paradox if time plays out different and you don't know of what could have happened. Does that make sense?

I think time re-wound, there was a sort of "ripple", if you will, in the time stream, and that moment we see is Clank of the past merging with Clank of the future's memories.  So I DO think he remembers.  Thus he stops time from repeating itself.  But that's just how I feel.

Perhaps he did it IS possible, I just like the rather unique take that maybe he doesn't. Which explains his inaction when he first arrives back at the point where Alister shoots Ratchet rather than immediately push him aside but again, that's just my personal interpretation.

After hearing your take, my hubbie is on your side.  BTW, we just watched the CiT cut-scenes a couple of days ago, so that's why I'm so full of comments at the moments.

That's ok! Did you play the game or only watch the cutscenes? I'm curious.
Also, I just feel that if Clank knew exactly what was going on he'd have pushed Ratchet out of the way immediately rather than stand and assess the situation for a few seconds.

Both, I always play first, but afterwards I download the cut-scenes so I can keep them for future reference and fun!  I'm currently going back through ToD for Skill Points.

Yaaay! Sadly, the only game whose skill points I've completely cleared in the very first one I have no idea why... some of them are... REALLY hard. I only have like 3 to go in ToD though
Personally I don't watch the cutscenes unless I'm playing but only because that is my reward for playing! But that's just me. The Cutscenes thing is actually a pretty good idea.

Hehe I love that scene) Nice work!)

For me Clank remember all of these. But I have one thought about lever in Orvus Chamber. What if Orvus deliberately put that lever in chamber for this situation? Because it's strange, he put the lever mechanism that could destroy the Universe, but only if you use it more than 6 minutes. And only Clank could enter the chamber. Why? I think Orvus knew what would happen if Ratchet die here and it's something much worse.

It's amazing what Clank and Ratchet would do to save one another, they're like brothers ^w^
