I hardly ever draw Usagi doing... what he does. Mostly because I find action scenes to be cool, but shallow.But anyway, I wanted to draw something simple and actiony just to get some more interesting poses out without getting too involved in construction and stuff.
hmmm. haven't got much more to say about this. Some of them I like more than others.

These are damn nice, I must admit.
I think action scenes can be good and even have intellectual or emotional value to them - just depends on how they're done.
The action scenes in Equilibrium, for instance, are full of commentary on the whole nature of the world they're portraying.
Anyway, these action shots are really cool, I can totally feel the path of the sword in each one - nice use of secondary action too, the belt and the ears, they really bring it home.
It has kind of a Japanese illustration quality to it, with the thick lines and flat colours, too. Nice.

I couldn't think of what colour to paint them and stay within the Colour palette. I couldn't find any references so I just kept it as is.

No I do, but I mean for it to fit into the colour palette of a Japanese woodblock print it wouldn't have looked right.

Shallow...? Hm..I didn't think this way of action scenes so far... o.o
I guess that is possible. For me dynamism and tension IS a content...hm..I wonder why XD;
Anyways - REALLY nice poses, I do like!
And the bold lines somehow gives the impression of those martial-art style teaching scrolls' illustration in those old Jackie Chan Kung-fu films XD

XD I just mean with Action scenes there is usually not much emotion in them unless it's part of a story or something. I prefer drawing pictures showing characters behaving like themselves XD;;
But I won't deny hey can be fun to do when I want to
