It is, and it can be a ton for his age too. He's 8 years old in the anime (or maybe officially in all sonic games) by the way.
It might also be possible (depending on what version you're basing it on and where it takes place after the anime) that he could be lying. He's saying they're "tired" from the events in the Olympics (IK sonic is stressed from losing to Mario), but it could also be he's scared to tell them about what happened, maybe because he feels like they forgot about her, some of them could get angry at him for still remembering her, or something like that.
