Description
Request from ~Pasta-princess who requested fem!North Italy. Thanks for my first completed online request!~
I hope you like it!
Feel free to give me constructive criticism~
Begin random notes:
Right, I had this idea for any pair of siblings for a while now. And since I got a request for fem!North Italy, I was suddenly taken by the idea of her and her older brother. I often see North and South Italies as both boys or both girls but hardly as brother and sister!
I realise I always draw Lovino with earthy colours... and a green scarf.
Oh well he is smiling in this one. I'd think he'd at least smile on a vacation with his younger sister. Wouldn't he?Excuse my strange fashion sense. I usually draw fem!Italies with giant bows on their heads. :/
The background is quite boring but I wanted to keep it simple. And I am no good with backgrounds/dynamic posing anyways

This is a great image, I really just like everything about it. You have lovely composition of character, they're not doing anything super exciting, but they've still got a nice pose going, it's a sweet and calm sort of interaction between these two. I love the background and the flowers bursting out from behind them, that's really lovely. Heck, while I'm at it, the detailing in those flowers is awesome, those are very pretty and very well done. Then of course there's the colouring, I only wish I could colour like that, there's so much toning and shading, it's smooth, but there's still that hint of texture. Fabulous. Also, the colours aren't too bright, it's a sunny image, and it projects the feeling of warmth that you want between the two characters and their moment with out being assaulting to the eyes. Yes, I very much like this piece and think you did a wonderful job compiling it

I so get what you mean by a so not super exciting pose. I am really bad at those... Always screw them up (pose, motivation, paper and all)
May I ask if you are a traditional artist yourself or other form? I am very glad when I get comments for colour ( It does take me ages and I always worry about overdoing the colours. ).

Ah, I didn't mean for you to be offended by mu saying the pose was not exciting, I got the impression it wasn't meant to be. Also, what I meant by "exciting" was the fact that they weren't jumping around or doing anything exuberant... perhaps my wording is fail. Essentially your image was a lovely portrait image with just a hint of playfulness to it in the way they were holding up the cards. Yes, I believe that's what I want to say.
I can also tell you that yes, I am a traditional artist myself, although I have dabbled in some digital colouring(can't do line art in digital media to save my life though >.<). You'd likely be disappointed if you went to my gallery though, I don't get to practice my craft much so my colouring has become epic fail, it's even worse now that I am a university student with no free time. However, as a fellow traditional artist, I know when I see good work, and you colours were AWESOME, I don't think you over did a thing.

Ah yes, university does leech up time. I'm only in senior years for high school and I get the whole workload piles too high that there is little time for art. Mm.

Heh, yeah senior yeah in high school and university have little time monsters that eat away at any spare minutes you have lying around. Art really does suffer because of it ;_;
