Description Sketch/Work No.4 for my digital study breaks!
Lately, I've been in a Final Fantasy mood as well as Alternate Universes and Casual or nonCanon clothing. I must have been influenced by playing Crisis Core before my exams a while back.

Sooooo, mix it altogether and I ended up somehow drawing up a Sephiroth (before he went gonzo crazy) in a yukata kimono and traditional setting. Sorry, if no one likes that but I like traditional settings. I wanted to draw his sword too but then it didn't happen. It's just too long.

This is the first time drawing Seph, so don't shoot me too bad... (because he is completely out of character I think).

But this is a lovely piece, dear. And I wouldn't say this is OOC for him. Honestly, this reminds me of how a friend of mine is writing him for a fan-fic of her's called The Path We Choose. Looking at this, I see her Sephiroth, post the events of her fic.

I don't think he's out of character! Before he goes crazy I imagine him just as you drew him! ^^ He's calm and somehow caring even if he doesn't show that much... even with Zack he's like that! (I saw that you've played to CC!) ^^ aww I really think he's perfect like that... this costume suits him well and I think he might like this kind of clothes because of the fact his sword is a katana! So really I think this is totally not OOC!

I bet that when good old Sephirot was still an obedient soldier he must have been like that, yeah.
I'd love to commission you for that but I don't have any cash right now (looking for a job currently). But if you check out my gallery, it's the first thing you'll see. I prefer the more anime style since I don't like over defining faces (e.g. outlines of lips and noses with more detail). But then I don't try to make my style too flat. If that makes sense

This is a beautiful piece. Love the scenery, and of course, Sephiroth.

*Cough* At the same time, this is actually slightly hilarious (not in a bad way), for you see, he's totally cross-dressing! Men's yukata tend to be rather plain in comparison to women's. Men's yukata tend to be less colorful, but make up for it in patterns woven into the cloth, geometric patterns, etc. They also sometimes come with more "masculine" prints, such as dragons and oni. He can cross dress if he wants to... (I think). I'm just an evil artist who likes drawing pretty things, whether it be a female yukata or not~ I guess I just didn't like the plain stripes and whatnot of a male yukata so as evil as I can be, he gets a lady's.

No offence taken! I just hope it doesn't detract from the overall work too much. Perhaps I should have thought about the dragons but then I really just wanted to draw without much thought. Loosen up studying stress.
Maybe I'll draw a more canon, masculine Sephiroth later~

Him and Cloud and their weird cross dressing escapades. Dear lord. I don't think I would want to see that.
