Description Macrophage
90*110cm, Acrylics on canvas, 2012

The painting shows phagocytosis of bacterias by a macrophage.

I painted this during the time of my master thesis which was also related to macrophages.

The macrophage is the big skull with arms (the arms are the pseudopodia). The blue part is the cell interior of the macrophage and the green compartement is its phagolysosome.
The bacteria are the small, red guys.

Das ist eine sehr coole Idee.
Ich lerne zurzeit für mein Studium viel über die Phagozytose, hatte demensprechend auch ein Grinsen auf dem Gesicht, als ich Makrophage gelesen habe.

Wow, das ist einfach nur toll! Jemand, der mit Acryl (oder anderen traditionellen Mitteln) so gut umgehen kann, verdient meiner Meinung nach den größten Respekt. Weil man es nicht so schnell nachbessern kann wie auf dem Zeichenbrett.
