The fighter also sported the red wheel discs of Flik 61/J.  According to some sources the dark finish on some Flik 61/J aeroplanes was applied for experimental night flights by the unit’s commanding officer, Oblt Strohschneider.

Five victories were claimed by Gräser with this machine from January to March 1918, and 153.106 was also flown in May 1918 by fellow ace Oblt Ludwig Hautzmayer.

On 17 May 1918, Gräser flew an escort mission, and was shot down in flames by several Italian aces, including Guido Nardini, Francesco Baracca, Antonio Chiri, Cesare Magistrini, and Gastone Novelli.
