got me on a ballet craze by showing me a beautiful picture of a woman en pointe in arabesque (drawn by some guy...can't remember *feels bad*)

so i went on dA and searched "pointe ballet" and saw all the pictures of pointe shoes, and decided to take a picture of mine and put them on here ^^ my artistic contribution as a dancer.

i've only been doing pointe for about two months....i'm still kinda stuck at the barre, occasionally coming offa it. The fanciest move i can do is one chaine. and i can kinda do echappe enqua (sp on the enqua...the meaning is supposed to be "in the shape of a cross" so i'd appreciate the real spelling ) but i get tired after a while and can't even got onto the box.

Oh, and i'm using lamb's wool... TT_TT ...i hate it...too fiddly...

i need ouch pouches and those toe thingers....y'know, the kind you put on your big toe to relieve the pressure? I need that (half for the pressure, and half cuz my second toe is longer than my big toe).

anyhoo, I LOVE DANCE x3333

...oh, and if we go back to flats (or lyrical shoes as some call it), I'm finally able to do a Tour en Seconde! x33 Right's much better than left, so i'm working on left.

been dancing for about 8 years...i think...

i started at 4 y/o...then we stopped halfway through the year cuz all i did was stare at myself in the mirror...started again at 5...i'm 13 now, so about 8 years. Going into 9th as soon as school starts again x333

um...done i guess (though i want to keep rambling about dance).

Sooooo about three years later. These shoes are completely banged and messed up now. I'm currently on my third pair of point shoes, and am experiencing problems with my hips which might take me out of pointe altogether. D: But I've been to a doctor to get my hips fixed and have been prescribed physical therapy to keep me dancing.

I would love to take a picture of this pair of shoes as they are now and post them, but two years ago my english teacher had us make our own time capsules to be opened my senior year. He wanted us to put special things in our time capsules, so I put in my first pair of pointe shoes. I think I got extra points for sentimentality.

So yeah. There's that. Gotta go get ready for dance class now. Heehee!
