I don't give a shit if it's canon, AANG is basically still twelve. Katara acts more like Aang's MOTHERΒ than a girlfriend.
but hey, I'd love to hear your theory as to why Zutara shippers are stupid.

I apologize for calling them (including you) stupid, I'm just annoyed and irritated at the fact that some people wanna go as far as bashing Aang and Mai for being with Katara and Zuko.
For starters, there hasn't been a single love or sexual desire between the two throughout the whole series. Sure they both can relate on growing up without a mother, but offering to heal Zuko's scar was something Katara wanting to help with out of compassion and remorse, not pity or romantic love. Same goes for Zuko shielding her from Azula's lightning; it was purely friendship
And another thing, opposites don't always attract. In fact, they clash and cancel each other out. So it doesn't always work like that.
I also wanna know: why do people always write rage fanfics whenever they don't like what they see? Sure there are things I don't like, but writing a fanfic simply out of anger,pervy fantasies,etc is just dumb (at least in my eyes).

lol apology accepted, but you have to admit, Zutara has QUITE the following. I think it's due to a few factors, not all apply to everyone, but I think at least ONE of them applies to just about all Zutarans
1)how cute Zuko looks with Katara
2)the whole, opposites attract, thing
3)cause they can relate so well
4)just...cause they like to ship Zutara
besides, some people like to ship Aang with Toph
(and I'm sure some like to ship Aang or even Sokka with Zuko or...Aang with Sokka)
in short, people are weird, and I think that'd the best way to explain all ships, from crack to canon.Β people are weirdΒ XD

And hey, I respect the canon on pretty much everything I see. Though going to war on character pairings is a no for me, so I apologize once again for calling you guys dumb.

Poor Aang and Mai, they must have been terribly frustrated for being harassed by some of those rabid Zutarians on the daily basis.Β
Don't worry, I am sure there will be somebody who will help those rabid Zutarians to chill off someday.
While the sane and decent Zutarians should also lend a hand to help their rabid counterparts to chill off and change their bad behavior.Β
If there are more and more sane and decent Zutarians out there, I am sure the fandom might turn into a better place.Β

If Aang froze at 16, instead of 12 and that Zuko did end up with Katara alongside with Sokka ending up with Toph, then he would end up with Mai. I'm neutral to Zutara and Maiaang as I'm a Kataang/Maiko shipper.

I hate Maiko and Kataang. I like Zutara, but the reason I hate Maiko and Kataang is because neither pairing fits with each other. I hate Kataang especially, though, because I despise Aang for some reason! I've always imagined a scene like this! I actually like Mai a lot, but not with Zuko.Β

I love Maang, because I'm kinda wondering what will Aang and Mai do when Zutara happens, how will they cope, etc. Also it'll give me a good reason to pair them together (Unless I do Taang). One thing that makes me angry about my fellow Zutarans, is bashing Mai and Aang, whom I know are worth their salt.
