I´ve got to wonder, though: If Blake can augment her semblance with dust to have her shadow clones blow up or take solid forms and such, does this mean Weiss can do the same with the creatures she summons?

(Quetzacoatl, Legendary Titan of Summons from, you guessed it, the cartoon Huntik: Secrets and Seekers. If Weiss pulls off summoning this badass, Salem´s gonna know the defination of fear)
Why so much Huntik, you ask? Easy: It´s an awesome cartoon, and the main protagonist, Lok Lambert, is voiced by none other than Yuri Lowenthal during the show´s first season, who you might know as the voice of Mercury Black.
One more thing: I sometimes imagine character who share the same VA fighting one another, but in this case, it wouldn´t be a battle. I mean, Lok has a wide variety of titans at his disposal, ranging from swift and agile scouts all the way to Hulk on steriods (with a sword for a right hand). And even if this was just Mercury vs. Lok, Mercury would lose big time.
Sure, Mercury has his aura to protect him, but this only lasts so long, and Lok can raise force fields, shoot energy beams, use spells to inrease his physical abbilities, can summon a sword that spawned the legend of Excalibur, and can heal himself from almost any wound.
I don´t want to go into too much detail, though, so just watch Huntik and see for yourselves.

I kind of like her being all fancy. It's impractical, but it fits Weiss, and it's a great contrast from the rest of the team.

Yes and no. She's not useless, but she is a Schnee to her core. Part of that, of her legacy and what she wants to achieve, involves looking the part.
That being said... having a more warrior woman look would do a great job of reflecting that and the change in her character. I just don't want her looking like Yang or Blake.

I get that she has to remain stoic and calculated in attitude and
appearance, but she can be more relaxed now that she doesn't
have to worry about inheriting the family company.

I actually came at Weiss's character growth from a different angle. I didn't think she's going to give up on getting the company. I assumed she was going to take it back. I see where you're coming from, though. If she goes all-in on just being a Huntress I could totally see her adopting something more practical.

Well the idea for casual wear came from this picture done by

For me this idea came from thinking about ideas for a crossover and
thinking about the dark secrets that her dad has had in the works,
and whether or not the company could be salvaged. For me the answer
was NO after thinking of how far horrific those secrets have to be to
make Faunus resort to such extreme measures. So I think the Company
will dig it's own grave and Weiss being the one to end it's evil.
