Cinder needs to drop dead. Like, right now. So what that she's one of the main villains and we know nothing about her past. I don't care, the bitch needs to die.
That said, like many others, I believe Weiss will survive. The bad guys still have to get the relic before the whole place blows up and while some of the heroes will chase them, Jaune might unlock his Semblance and save Weiss. There's still hope.
Speaking of hope, we also mustn't forget about the opening song. "Triumph will be ours", it said. Well, it sure doesn't look like it at the moment, but I still expect a happy ending for this volume. Well, a semi-happy ending. Even if the villains manage to get the relic, Haven can still be saved and some bad guys will hopefully kick the bucket.

It might be a good time to end Cinder, one way or another. Maybe push her to the sidelines a bit, give Hazel or Watts a more central role. I feel if Jaune starts healing people his character arc is going to ultimately lead to him healing Cinder's scars. Not forgiving her, but moving on.
As for Weiss... It's too early to end a title character this volume. There's no way they up the drama from that.
I kind of hope Haven works as an inverse of Beacon, give the kids some kind of win. Maybe have Qrow take over the school and spend a volume or two working from there, since we spent all of Vol 4 trying to get there.

Why would Jaune heal Cinder's scars? Seriously, why would he ever want to do that? Even if Cinder turns against Salem and decides to befriend the heroes (which is extremely unlikely), I don't see Jaune wanting to heal her scars, if they even can be healed at all. What's more, if Cinder turned good, I think she'd want to keep her scars as reminders of her past... But that will never happen. I believe Cinder is about as capable of feeling remorse as Voldemort.
I agree, Haven needs to be a win. We can't leave Mistral yet, we've barely seen any of it and there are still all the students of Haven left to reintroduce to the show. I especially want to see Team SSSN again and their reactions when they learn what their leader has been up to lately and that their school almost got blown up. Not to mention the fact that Mistral desperately needs more Huntsmen at the moment, so Qrow and Ozpin could possibly have their hands full with Haven's students for quite some time.

I don't think Cinder's going to have that kind of redemption, I think Jaune might do it as a sort of "moving forward" thing. They'd have to capture Cinder first, so it's all dependent on that. Jaune needs to move past this rage at some point, it's become all consuming and nearly got him and Weiss killed. Don't forgive, don't forget, but move forward.
I forgot SSSN came from Mistral, we still need to see his team! There's no way they leave so soon! I half expect Qrow to take up the Headmaster position at Haven when the volume is over, and I imagine we'll start getting Watts as the main antagonist for a bit. But all of the students are here (minus CFVY) so it all lines up pretty nicely.

Jaune can move on from his rage without doing anything nice to Cinder. It just wouldn't make any sense at all to heal her, especially if she remains evil. Heck, they shouldn't even capture her. Cinder is that type of villain who is too dangerous to be left alive. I always hate it when heroes decide to be all noble and leave their enemies alive no matter how much death and suffering they've caused, just because "it's the right thing to do" and because they hope it won't happen again.
I assume you're talking about the main characters, because Beacon definitely had more students than just RWBY, JNPR, CFVY and CRDL. I wonder what all those kids in Vale are doing these days... I trust many of them are still working on getting rid of the Grimm, but I think at least some of them have moved to other kingdoms to continue their education. Who knows, if Haven is saved, maybe we'll get to see some familiar faces in the next volume.

Yeah, I was talking about the characters who've had some sort of character arc, so I included Neptune. As small as his was. I assume some of the teachers have taken to teaching them around Beacon. Hands-on learning, an apprenticeship of sorts. Lord knows there's plenty of Grimm around. I still half expect Glynda to get the tower working and send out a distress signal at the end of a volume, it's the type of move RT loved for RvB.
