Another piece featuring my fave DC couple, Clark and Diana, this time modelled sharing a tender moment, lamenting the one thing they could not defeat- forbidden love.I know that many others prefer Wonder Woman with Batman while insisting that Kal-el belongs with Lois for all eternity, but to me and quite a few others, that dynamic got stale after 70 years of the same cycle, and personally, I find the bm-ww pairing a little extreme and Lois annoys the life out of me, LOL. Clark is the one man who can truly help her fit in, as he is a man who inhabits both worlds- human and superhuman, commoner and hero.
This one was done as a birthday present for my brother, whose birthday falls tomorrow, Oct 19. Everyone calls him Clark Kent, and he's a huge fan of the characters and the pairing, like me, so, I thought this was an appropriate present. Hope you like it Bro, and even if you don't, don't worry, I got something else for ya, LOL.

Your brother's birthday is a day after mine. For us libras balance is something we desire, and that is what Superman and Wonder Woman represent to me. A balanced relationship of equals. One that is mutually beneficial to bothΒ parties in the relationship. Just from the standpoint of their friendship alone, we were able to see during the post-crisis/pre-flashpoint era how well and seamlessly they blended with each other. That they understood each other, challenged each other and were each other's confidant. They challenge superficial ideology and mawkish storylines about what makes strong romantic relationships. Maybe that's why it takes people with a strong sense of self, a deeper understanding of life and relationships to truly appreciate the beauty, wonder, and specialness to be found in SMWW.

Looks gorgeous. This one's arguably one of your best pieces yet. I like the idea of these two together as well- something so bittersweet about loving each other and being unable to do something about it. Hardly as dull and predictable as opponents of the pairing like to claim. So, just wanted to let you know you have my full support for Superman and Wonder Woman.
p.s: I'd love to see that Dante/Trish render when you're done

Dante/Trish... hmmm. I'll see what I can whip up buddy. I agree, a lot of people act like she really is his mom, and I find that a little silly. I for one think they make a fantastic couple, even though I like Lady too.

Yeah, I don't get that reasoning either. And besides, Viewtiful Joe made it pretty clear that Trish doesn't bear Eva's soul and is pretty much her own woman.
I like Lady too. My fave scenes in DMC3 were after the fight at the end of Ch16 and her consoling him after Vergil's defeat. That, and of course that awesome bike sequence. I didn't like either Trish' or Lady's characterizations in DMC4 though (even if Trish looked positively ravishing

Depends on how hold you are. If you're over 18, then there's Cosmic Dance which seems to be a favorite with my group. Otherwise there's Clay Magnet for a younger reader.
I actually like the idea of Hal with Black Canary (just coz I find it silly that she keeps forgiving Ollie), but hey, Hal and Carol's fine with me too.

Yes I'm over 18. 20 to be exact. Hal and Canary huh? What HAS Green Arrow done to make Canary keep forgiving him? I've heard about that stuff, but I'm not too sure. I wouldn't of minded seeing Canary and Flash. That would of had to of happened after Zoom killed his and Linda's babies though. Above all other pairings in the DCAU I would of LOVED to of seen Superman and Volcana. In regular DCU it would have to be Superman and Wonder woman, but you probably knew that already

Superman and Volcana actually makes some sense in the DCAU since he was the only one who seemed to actually care about her. Having her as an informant would've been cool. I found it wierd that after appearing at his funeral in that one episode, she ended up celebrating his 'death'. That was really odd (personally, I was disgusted at the suggestion of a relationship with Lashina).
As for Green Arrow, he's been portrayed as a jerk and as a philanderer at times, which I don't like. And of course, Hal's my fave Lantern.
Canary and Flash? Sounds interesting.

I own the whole Jl and JLU series and I keep looking at the ep whrre Superman died "Hereafter" and I don't see Volcana at the funeral anywhere. That really made him sad that she was celebrating his death. It just made o sense. Maybe she just needed to blow off some steam. I'm gonna have to make a fanfic where they hook up.

I'm a BM/CW shipper, and even I think Selina'd be a better match for Clark than Knockout would, LOL. Seems wierd to me.
Volcana appears in a blink and you miss cameo during the funeral, behind Kyle Rayner. I cold be wrong, since I never bought the dvd. The show's not exactly my fave version of the DC heroes, not after the way they turned Superman into ineffective deadweight and made him an idiot on the show.

Darn right! Clark is the perfect man for Diana. Something about a laidback reporter from the heart of Kansas with a warior Princess really intrigues me, and heck, it's never been done with conviction in canon. And Lois, well... I really don't see why it has to be her and only her, just coz it started that way.

It doesn't always seem that way, but yeah, when you look at Superman Returns, where Richard White was every bit as good and decent as Clark Kent but she still pines for a Superman she knows nothing about, it does seem like she's attracted to the powers and image, not the real person, and I hate that.

Yeah, that's the way I see it too- it's gotten stale after 70 years. Plus, Lois didn't always get on my nerves, but with Smallville, Superman Returns and then James Robinson's run, you know what I mean, LOL.
