A spindly little fawn, Coinín isn't anything unusual for his age. Amadán gave his son simple paint at first, but then went out of his way to make it a little more special by adding the sun to Coinín's back. Amadán's memories of the sun during his pilgrimage above ground are not pleasant -- heat and blinding brightness -- so he's unsure of what possessed him to create such a pattern. Somehow, though, it warms his heart.
