The download button should be working, I just checked it. It should load a compressed .zip file which you will need to extract. Here is a link to the tutorial for Installing a Pre-made Brush
Any probs, let me know

Wow, great brushes! Β I downloaded GIMP today to be able to use your icing brushes and the rest of your sets. Since I saw your Β icing brushes the first time I tried my own set in Paint Shop Pro from a tutorial but the result is not as realistic looking as yours, well done and many thanks!!Β Β

Hi Caff,
My icing sets is up for grabs at my blog with a link to 4Shared. Β But they are Paint Shop Pro tubes format. Β The previews show some results. Β You can check them here: launok.blogspot.com
It is actually a long time that I have done any 2D related stuff as I am lately more into 3D but from time to time I love doing making scrapbook use freebies, etc. Β

I am really interested in the way you created these brushes. When I convert them to use in photoshop, the brushes behave differently. In photoshop the brush image is "stamped" repeatedly, so you get a horrible effect that looks nothing like icing. But in Gimp the icing effect is brilliant as Gimp almost smudges the brush rather than repeating the image. I know that what I've just written probably makes no sense at all! But I really want to know how to get photoshop brushes to behave like Gimp brushes. If anyone can give me an explanation I would be really grateful!

In the Gimp there is a 'spacing' setting on the brushes panel which determines how closely the images are stacked. '1' is one pixel apart and so on. I don't have photoshop so I don't know how to convert them. But look for spacing settings and I think it will work.
Good luck!

caffeine2 In reply to anokes [2005-08-12 16:00:51 +0000 UTC]
Hi anokes!
To elaborate on my original comment, make sure you:
*create a new picture with at least one layer (best to use a transparent layer as you can add a background later without affecting the rest of your work)
*create text - this will make a text layer (preferrably use dingbat or joined up font)
*in the text dialogue click 'create path from text'
*in the 'layers, channels, paths' dock (layers dialogue) un-click the eye next to the text layer, then click on the blank layer.
*in the brushes dialogue, select the brush you want to use i.e. icing
*in the paths dialogue, click 'stroke path', then select 'paintbrush' to stroke the path and click ok.
When in doubt, muck around in gimp to see what works!!!
