Description Folded from 25cm square white kami, model stands ~10cm tall.

I recently learned from watching other models to make raised boxes from cross pleats on paper, and what better to solidify what I've learned than to design a model around it? I got the idea from my friend who, out of the blue, suggested I make a mech. I had a bunch of fun with the mechwarrior games in the past, so I decided to make one of my favorite mechs, the Mad Cat (My friend had a gundam in mind when he said "mech", but I prefer the design of the mechs in the Battletech universe). Now I have a cool little Mad Cat on my desk.

This model is a open-back model, meaning the back is just an open cavity. Methyl cellulose was necessary to hold shapes in several key areas: missile racks, the hip, knee joint, and the ankle.

Recently find this model, and I've managed to fold it. But I need a bit help with the legs Haven't found out. May I ask how to do it?
Thank you in advance!

Very well-done. I can't look at it without this big stupid grin appearing on my face.

Oookay, after seeing this I have decided to actually make my little Raven (got MechWarrior Online recently, new models are very detailed). I've been thinking of doing it for a while, but after seeing this... I just have to.

Amazing work.

Thanks. I'll upload a photo of it when I'm done, along with some Starcraft 2 stuff that I forgot to put up (I've been making things from the game since I got it two years ago, but have yet to upload any of it).

Well. I just finished it, and it doesn't look all that bad, though not as clean and geometric as your TimberWolf, despite using a very similar crease pattern. Part of that though, miiight just possibly be due to the fact that it's 1.5 centimeters tall. I think I may have used slightly too small a paper. Oops.

And I completely forgot to upload it. Here's the final model, if you're interested:

Whoops, I tend to not check my comments section too often. That's a pretty sweet looking raven.

With a little tweaking you can make metal gear

Pretty good, but can you make a paper airplane? That's the true test of skill.

Let me guess, you'd like a spitfire?

I wasn't asking for anything. I was just joking about you making a paper airplane. But if you're looking for inspiration, Spitfire is never bad!

Hey! it seems you have just invented boxpleating for yourself: [link] Well, that's the first such model ever made, in the 60s if I remember correctly
But hey! this mecha is absolutely cool! You did a great job here!

Haha no, what I meant when I said I learned how to make raised boxes from cross pleats on paper are these type of raised boxes: [link] (smiley face by Uwe Hollerbach). I just used a raised box as an inspiration for the cockpit; I'm pretty darn sure I didn't invent anything new.

Oh yeah, Mooser's train is a fun one to do.

No you sure didn't, and my comment shouldn't have been misleading in this respect - it seems it was - but my point is, there is not much difference between Mooser's train and the raised boxes, at least technically - mooser's train is "row of boxes on steroids"
This doesn't change anything on the fact that this mecha is extremely cool!
