Run, run until your feet are battered and bruised, your legs are burning and weak, run until the pounding of your heart hurts more than the break.  Run until you can't see the horizon but only an endless expanse of darkened sky, run until the stars outshine his eyes, run until you reach the wooded paths and thickened trees and run until you hear nothing but the echo of the wind instead of his voice.  Run, run until the mountains and prairies are far behind you and you're somewhere empty and vast, somewhere beyond the sunset, run until you're somewhere where his fingers can't reach your delicate spine.  Run until you feel the sand beneath your feet, run until the water fills your lungs and swallows you whole, run until you taste nothing but the salt and the breeze and the chill instead of his kiss.

Run until you're free.

And yell, yell until your throat is hoarse and your voice is empty and your body is drained, yell until the thoughts floating on the wind carry your heartache with them.  Yell until you untangle the words you never told him from your lips, yell until the wild in your eyes is stronger than the embers in your heart.  Yell until you're the eye of the storm, yell until you're as resilient as the ocean, thunderous and determined, yell until you're quiet, strong, and powerful.  Yell until you're intoxicated with freedom, yell until you're laughing hysterically, invigorated with life and passion, yell until your restraints have vanished and you're boundless with the sky and the moon and the earth.

And breathe, breathe until your mind is clear and your bones are loose, until the pieces of your heart are beating proudly as one.  Breathe until you know you're strong.  Breathe until you know you're brave.
