Description Quite a strange sight seeing this log(basically a tree) lying on the beach.. Used an ND8 filter = purple!

Love the perspective. I like how the log points in the distance. making your eye follow along it. Beatuful tones, too. Dark, but not like... yucky dark. Calm dark. Quiet. Still.

Nice shot! Would a ND8 filter usually result in a purple tint, or is it just the brand you are using. I'm looking into getting a couple ND filters and gradual ND filters and just wanted to make sure that it doesn't do this to all the images shot although I could just adjust in photoshop assuming I'm shooting digital.

Thanks! The cheaper filters do it and am also told the same with Cokin's. Singh Ray or Lee filters seem to have the best NDs available(no obvious colour casting), but are a bit pricey in comparison to the aforementioned..
