Description Whats a coober you may ask? well i have no idea but Coober Pedy is some place located in the middle of no-where surrounded by small mountains... they look like mountains spreading to the horizon as you approach but are no more than a bunch of mullock heaps from trucks like this. "Opal capital of the world".

Love your image, it almost makes me miss the place, almost.
I lived in Coober Pedy 6 years ago, and the truck was painted in the Crows colours, ( Adelaide Crows is a Aussie Rules football team) then the Power won the Grand Final, (Port Adelaide) so after many years of Crows colours they repainted it as you see above. These two teams are the only South Australian teams in Aussie football, so when ever they win a grand final its taken very serious in Coober Pedy.

Oh cool! would be a pretty interesting place to live in, did you live underground there?

Just found a pic of the truck in the Crows colours [link] definitely looks better black

Great photo! I just love all the bits of discarded custom-made mining vehicles around Coober Pedy!

How bizarre. What's the thing on the back of the lorry? Is it a pump and funnel of some sort?

Its like a bucket used to remove the dirt in all the shafts people dig...

A Coober Pedy is evidently an early prototype of a jacked-up monster truck involving the use of wooden stilts.
