Description i found another meaning for the acronym HAMR! YEAAAAAAAAAA
what can i say, a quick build.
zoom the image twice to see everything.
and important, i didn't put much effort into this one. it was a really quick build.

well, i also made 3 "special edition" rifles. they're basically the basic .338 Lapua Magnum sniper rifle with different paintjobs.
as it's 4th of July, i decided to make a 4th of July special edition for you americans.
consider this a gift from brazil for you americans. after all, we fought togheter in WW II.

don't worry, i'm saving the best to 7th of September.
(Brazilian independence day)

MS Paint was used for words and camos. the rest is 100% PMG.

now, for a proper description:
....................................................................................

the HAMR (Heavy Adaptive Modular Rifle) system was designed to provide soldiers with a reliable, powerful and quickly convertible rifle. it is a selective-fire, gas-operated, long-stroke piston weapon. the part shared by all of the models is the upper reciever. however, all versions will still function even with different lower recievers (however, the "sniper" lower reciever is designed to restrict fire to semi-automatic), so it can be said that the lower reciever is also shared by all models, making this weapon a very adaptable one.
by simply changing the barrel, bolt and magazine adaptor, the operator can cycle through 3 different cartridges:

- .338 Lapua Magnum: a powerful round, normally used for sniping. automatic fire is possible only because of the sophisticated recoil-absorbing system. comes in 5, 10 or 15 round box magazines or 85 round double-drum (Beta C-Mag) magazines, though the latter is not much used because it is prone to jamming.

- 7.62x51mm NATO: the famous 7.62 round, quite powerful and used in most battle rifles. comes in 10, 20, 25 or 30 round box magazines, 40 or 50 casket magazines, or 100 round double-drum magazines.

- 7.62x54mmR: the famous rimmed round used by the equally famous Mosin-Nagant and SVD Dragunov rifles. comes in 5, 10, 20 or 30 round box magazines, or 70 round single drum magazines. the famous double drum magazine is not available because this magazine itself is already prone to jamming, add a rimmed round to the mix and it is going to be very unreliable.

this rifle features a sophisticated recoil-absorbing system, making it possible to fire the .338 Lapua Mag in full auto. the rifle features multiple rails for mounting of acessories and two or three (depending on the stock being used) heavy duty rifle sling mounts. the whole rifle can be disassembled without use of tools, as the whole rifle is held togheter by telescoping pins.

the rifle features 3 different interchangeable lower recievers, see their functions below:

Normal lower reciever: the standard reciever. it features a good storage space for the cleaning kit and anything else, however it is not bigger due to some springs that are part of the recoil-absorbing system.
(Fire modes: semi automatic and fully automatic.)

Tactical lower reciever: features a side-foldable stock, features the same springs as the normal reciever but it's stock's storage space is smaller. this stock features some holes to save weight.
(Fire modes: semi auto and full automatic.)

Sniper lower reciever: features the same springs, however it's storage space is even smaller and has room only for the cleaning kit. however, it's stock features an adjustable length, adjustable cheek rest and adjustable monopod.
(Fire Modes: this reciever fires semi-automatic only and features a lightened trigger pull for sniping.)

given that, the rifle can be configured into 6 Main configurations:

Sniper: semi-auto only. normally features a high power scope and a bipod. can be equipped with a special supressor that uses the muzzle break to supply it with the gas instead of making holes in the barrel, allowing for no drop in muzzle velocity.
DMR: semi-auto only. normally features a medium power scope and a bipod. features a lighter and shorter barrel.
LMG: it will require a simple, quick conversion to belt-fed. normally features a bipod and fixed iron sights.
Battle rifle: the most overall variant. normally equipped with flip-up iron sights. features an even shorter barrel.
Heavy carbine: a lighter, shorter variant. normally equipped with flip-up iron sights. features a folding stock and the shortest barrel of all.
Scoped battle rifle: a variant of the battle rifle. features a folding stock and a carry handle with two mounted optics: one being adjustable (1-5x) and the other one being a 1x reflex sight.

.....................................................................

If you did this in a hurry, I can imagine how it would look if you had done it quietly...And I imagine the recoil on the .338 LM version, should be 10x worse than the AK-47

thanks!
well, as said in the description, it features a badass recoil-absorbing system... but yeah, even with that it would still kick 2x worse than the AK-47.

I sincerely have a passion for Battle rifles, no matter the recoil, I'd like to shoot one in real life. Preferably one in full auto MK14 EBR(Oh, and because of your tip, I'm trying to make a Battle Rifle bullup using shading and blending. Thank you)

Sheez not only do you seem to love the HAMR idea but you're pretty darn Amazing at it.
I so have to try my hand at the whole HAMR thing again...though if you saw my stuff from last year man they were ugly.
Also i never thought much about that certain Sniper.
Also Thanks for the 4th of July one .... and for not hating on my Country i know we've done some pretty terrible things in history and we still are.

haha thanks!
yeah, i love that acronym. it's useful for a lot of things.
about the 4th of june thing, yeah i have even heard some americans say, "i'm celebrating this for the people that died for the USA, not what it has become." but c'mon, hating the US is not that easy (at least for me, as i'm a brazilian and here the government rapes us with the extremely high taxes. though the US helped the military to stabilish a military dictatorship and repression in the 60's-80's).
and about that sniper... research about it. going to wikipedia is just not enough. he's the personification of awesomeness and badassery. also, if you like rock, there is a power metal band called "sabaton", they usually make songs about battles and war, specially the 2nd world war. they have a music called "white death", which is about that sniper. when you get a music from a rock band in your honor, the whole music talking only about you, you know you're awesome.
[sarcasm] and he only killed a few people. he wasn't very good at shooting, you know. [/sarcasm]

Yes it is.

America....well we have lost our way in many a issues but i still think we have plenty of promise and many chances to help out Β the world and i think we still are helping quite a few people.

I wish you didn't have so much trouble in your country right now.

I still need to do some more research about him.

well, to be honest we don't have much trouble, and when something happens i'm lucky to not be there.

i live in a city in the middle of nowhere, which it's own citizens use to call "*ss of the world" because of so much dirt is here.

recently, there were two car accidents involving basically big trucks running over small cars and making them even smaller. as you can imagine, no survivors except the truck drivers.

and worse, assaults and armed robbery are frequent.

what? armed robbery in a country where firearms are banned? and in such a small city?

yes. proof that gun conntrol doesn't work. let me narrate the story for you:

three guys entered a store (these stores where they repair cars and sell car parts, dunno how you call them in the US), armed mainly with revolvers. they started robbing the place and etc. etc. The owner of the place secretly ran to another room and called the police. when the cops arrived, a shootout started. (the police here is f*cked. they wield revolvers that look like aren't going to work, use bulletproof vests that are so old they aren't "bulletproof" anymore, and go around in normal, cheap cars which only modifications are the siren and a radio.) in the middle of the confusion, an innocent got literally headshooted and died instantly, i guess an officer was also hurt and the robbers escaped without harm.

again, proof that gun control doesn't work.

like serioulsy, some people believe criminals are gonna obey gun control laws?

they are called "criminals" for a reason.

THEY DON'T FOLLOW GODDAMN LAWS!Β

Dang so the story i hear about your country are somewhat true then.

I know no matter what laws they make for the Law Abiding citizens to abide by..... the criminals or non law abiding citizens...will break them.Β

I'm glad that oher people around the world are not blinded by the News Media.

though i am only 14 years old, i like to see the news. and i use them as a means to "calculate" the alienation attempted. everywhere i look in the TV i see something made to alienate and control the population. i filter those out and laugh at them. i don't know, it's a kind of 6th sense i have, to detect something made to alienate, or to control people, to change their opinions, etc. i laugh and cry at the same time, knowing that so many people, specially the masses (those are exactly the main targets of such propaganda and manipulation) are affected by them.

Dang then I A 19 year old must bow to your better ability to notice the fallacies in the world news as i just started noticing them about a year ago.

I also amused at some who think that their special site that aren't mainstream news will tell them the complete truth.

As everyone has a view point their trying to enforce on the rest of the world.

Could be better but the shape is pretty cool. I think it still looks to much like the preset Barrett.

yeah, as i said i didn't put much effort into it. it was a really quick build.
that's why i didn't submit it to the Armory . i know it looks like the 98 Bravo, but that was exactly the idea behind it. i heard that Barrett had a project for a common infantry rifle to hopefully replace the M-4s, and i mixed it up with an idea i had been having to make a high-caliber battle rifle. then i added a modular, adaptive design to it and this is the result.
i've always liked Barrett rifles. also, my surname is Barreto (facebook here: [link] ). i don't think it is a "portuguese" version of Barrett, but it is worth a few jokes with my friends and cousins
i'm a high-caliber person!

Finnish here, proper spelling is "Simo HΓ€yhΓ€". He apparently stayed at a retirement home in my city in his final years.

oh, thanks. my keybord lacks the two-points-on-top thing (sorry, don't now it's name) because it doesn't exist in portuguese language, so most sites written i portuguese call him "haya" or "hayha".
man, you live in the same city as he lived? you're a lucky man!
if i remember correctly, many consider him the best sniper that ever existed (and some consider him the best soldier ever!). he was accurate at even further than 500 meters without using a scope, and the russians sent artillery and whole divisions to kill him, yet he killed them. it's simply awseome.

haha thanks!
yeah, i know this music. and that finnish sniper was awesome: the russians sent hundreds of soldiers and whole divisions to kill him, and he killed them all. he even sent artillery to kill him, but he didn't die. then a lucky bastard hit his lower left jaw with an explosive bullet. both the enemy and his friends thought he was dead, but in the day (or the week, i dunno) the peace treaty was signed between finland and the russians, he regained consciousness. he had his mandible broken, but he recovered. he lived fairly long, he passed away in 2002.
and also, he refused to use a scope. he used the iron sights of the mosin-nagant. why? because when you use a scope, you've got to raise your head a little, thus giving your enemy a bigger, easier to see and to hit target. plus, scopes shine when directed at the sun, giving away your position, and could get blurry in the cold.

he was the fastest-rank promoting soldier in finnish military history.
he has at least 705 confirmed kills (505 with his finnish Mosin-Nagant copy and another 200 with his Suomi SMG.) and these are just his confirmed kills, some people believe he killed more than 1000 enemies.
man, talk about awesomeness. this guy was a real badass.
