A quick sketch of the Death God/Shinigami Rem. I don't know how or why, but I found her surprisingly easy to draw... O_oI've always loved the concepts for the Death Gods/Shinigami - Ryuk and Rem are so very cool
EDIT: Wow, for a picture I sketched on a whim at a buddy's house one evening, this sure has got a lot of attention. XD Thank you all.

Rem is so beautiful. I wish she was my shinigami c: I knew she was a girl right away, and she's such a gentle hearted one, I don;'t hold it against her at all for killing L..it was almost like she had no choice..i cried..no, i sobbed, when both of them died. Rem is just beautiful c: it's hard to describe XD

Yeah I could tell in the anime it was a low pitched woman's voice, but I still figured Rem was a guy. I kinda wished Rem was a guy instead of a girl though. But thank you for the clarification!!

I don't think Rem would've been as interesting as a guy - the whole series would've been too male-dominated and she looks too effeminate

Well yeah, the series would be too male-dominated, but I just see Rem as more of a male figure in a way. I know it's nice to see females every once in a while, but Rem just seems like a guy to me- I dunno why but she does.

What a fantastic PIcture! Rem was defiantely my favourite char from Death Note, she was just a great character, even though she was shown to be a guy, kinda sucks, i prefered her as a guy i think XD your attention to detail is amazing

ok im confused in the comic it says that its a boy but in the profle it says female and in the movie in bother englidh and jap it has the same voice actor and its a male

There were gender errors even in the comic - though she was only labelled male once in it and was labelled female thereafter. But it's officially been said Rem is female. Both the English and Japanese voice actors for the full anime were female as well.
...Those live-action movies were absolutely nothing to go by in the first place, since they completely butchered the entire story and made something vastly different from the original plot.

3rd: There's not enough good Rem-material out there, so this is very great!
