I don't know what it is but I find there to be something very charming in rough sketches and unfinished drawings....

Beautiful! say how do you add on color? is it all manual, or do you use the pc sometimes?

I do everything traditionally, so most of my color is watercolor, with some acrylic and colored pencil : )

Why do people take pictures of them making the art and not the actual art piece? This really bugs me.

The process is an art in itself allows you to see the completed image with a deeper perspective from the artist. Church!

because as a traditional artist people frequently ask me about my process, my materials, and my studio set up, and it's easier to show a photo than to answer 50 emails with the same question. Plus, as you may notice, many people actually enjoy sneak peeks into artist studios, myself included. one of my favorite parts about following other artists work is getting peeks into their studio and their art habits. I enjoy the humanizing aspect. If you don't like it, don't look at it.

haha it can be a bit daunting sometimes, I tend to work on a lot of projects simultaneously so that I don't get too burned out on one piece

Ah man I didn't know your images were so large, I suppose it makes getting the lines in all those tiny places easier!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
CaitlinHackett In reply to Lordfell [2014-08-21 06:15:25 +0000 UTC]
haha yeah, I like to work large when I can, although many of my pen and ink pieces are rather small, but whenever I get the chance to work on a big piece I do. They take forever since I love detail and tiny lines, but it's so satisfying to finish a large scale work!

aw thanks! Jealousy gets a bad rap, it is often my envy of other artists skills that pushes me to get better : )

Well, being alittle jealous is also good when it comes to art. It means that I must work harder to get better : ) But I am very slow to improove though.
