After that, the whole pregnancy went fairly smoothly. Every day I would get up a little before Hannah and make her breakfast, then bring it up to her in bed. I would lie next to her, softly whispering to the twins. We still had no idea what we wanted to name them, so we called them Thing 1 and Thing 2. As her due date approached, Hannah became more and more uncomfortable.

"Morning sweetie." I chirped.
"Shut up."
"Oh, someone's cranky. What have they done now?"
"Well this morning, Thing 1 kicked Thing 2 in the gut and now he's madder than hell."
"Ah, they hurtin' ya?"
"More than you will ever know."

We sat around for the rest of the day. Throughout, Hannah would complain that the twins were kicking up again. She would clutch at her stomach and groan, trying to hush them. As the afternoon sun blared in through the window, Hannah gave a yelp.

"What's the matter?"
"I don't think they're kicking."
"What do you mean? What's wrong with them?"
"Nothing's wrong. But I don't think that's what the pain was."
"So what was it?"
"I think there's a possibility I may be in labour."

Within seconds I was on the phone to Morgan.

"Hello, Iero residence."
"Morgan, Hannah's in labour."
"That's great!"
"It is most definitely not great. She's set on having a home birth but the midwife is all the way in Seattle and I don't know what to do."
"Ok, stay calm. I'll be there in an hour. Just be ready with towels and warm water. And blankets. And make sure you hold her hand."
"Ok, see you soon."

Hannah lay down on the couch and I sat next to her, gripping tightly onto her hand.

Morgan arrived, ready to do battle with two newborns. She helped me lift Hannah onto the floor and put a pillow behind her back.

"Now Hannah, when I so go, you go. Ok?"
"What do you mean go?"
"You'll see what I mean. Go!"

Hannah felt another pang in her stomach and lurched forward. She gave a scream which I'm fairly sure Frank could hear from the car (he was staying there with Bella due to the fact he wasn't good with births) and within a few minutes I was cradling my newborn baby girl in my arms.

"Hehe, hi there beautiful." I whispered, smiling down at her. She opened her eyes a little and looked up at me, huge brown orbs fixating on my face.
"Ok, you ready for another one of those?" Morgan asked me. I nodded in reply and Hannah bravely fought on until my son was brought into the world. Morgan bathed him and wrapped him, then placed him onto Hannah's chest. She sat up and held him.

"Hey handsome. How's it going?" she asked.

There was a tap at the window. I glanced over to see Frankie clutching Bellatrix and waving.

"Can I come in?" he called.
"Of course!" I yelled back.

We let Frank in and I handed the baby to Morgan. We both went upstairs for more towels and blankets. As we were wrenching them out of the cupboard, we heard a cry from downstairs. It was Morgan.

"Guys, we got a serious problem."
"What?"
"Hannah's heart's stopped beating."

There was a tap at the window. I glanced over to see Frankie clutching Bellatrix and waving.

"Can I come in?" he called.
"Of course!" I yelled back.
