Ok, so, serious question, if I may: we tried making a mirror glaze cake once, and while it turned out ok, we had no idea how to cut into it or eat it... Do you actually eat the glaze, or do you peel it away like we tend to do with bad tasting fondant?

I guess it depends on your recipe. Most mirror glazes are essentially a white chocolate ganache with a little gelatin to set it and give it shine. It's quite delicious.

Ahhhh. Ours was a little heavy on the gelatin, I think. It was... difficult to cut into. If it should be more like a ganache, then that shouldn’t be as hard or quite so chewy.

Yeah absolutely. It had a similar set as the mousse underneath, just not as light cause it doesn't have all the whipped cream to add air. The first few mirror glaze recipes that were popularised I did kind of go 'ew' at cause it seemed more gelatin than anything. But there's a lot of nice recipes around now.
