I'm very fond of golden autumn and admire it. I always wanted to paint an unusual landscape . This picture I have painted enthusiastically and wanted to do something amazing . It turned out like a tapestry . I think this is a good experiment , moreover the colors are very interesting and reminiscent of an old painting, antique tapestries . I myself am a big fan of the art of the 16th century, painted in several layers on the compressed linseed oil. It was a popular medium for paintings from the old masters.Russian: Очень люблю золотистую осень и ей восхищаюсь. Всегда хотел написать необычный пейзаж. Эту картину я писал с упоением и хотел сделать что-то потрясающее. Получилось похоже на гобелен. Считаю это удачным экспериментом, к тому же цвета очень интересны и напоминают старинную живопись, старинные гобелены. Сам я большой поклонник искусства 16 века, писал в несколько слоев, на уплотненном льняном масле. Кстати, это был любимый медиум для письма у старых мастеров.

i never painted, i was more drawing with lines... the only thing that could possibly drive me to painting is the forest, but not the autumn, like on your most wonderful painting here, but the early spring, before the leaves come out - i think you are a person who knows what i am talking about - i mean the branches and the little twigs, when the juice rises up in the trees, comes into them again and they start to show some soft colours - slightly red, violet, orange (the willows gleam the most)... well, i know, this ought to be one of the biggest challenges in painting, no?
(that's why i think i`ll never do it, haha...)

A tapestry, you are right! A French XVIIe c. tapestry : Aubusson...Beauvais and so on! I just miss a unicorn, or a lonesome knight, riding silently a white horse!

thank you for sharing your opinion. I tried to draw three strange wolves with griffon heads in the trees, but they're so small and dark that camera didn't notice them and they are to blurried on this photo to be seen
