Description
An artwork based on the Krajina Express, a real-life armored train used by the Croatian Serbs in the Army of Serb Krajina during both the Croatian and Bosnian wars in the 90s. Originally built in Knin and improvised from a civilian locomotive with coverings attached, it was additionally fitted with multiple weapons on board over time including rocket pods, Bofors anti-air guns, AT-3 Sagger ATGMs, German 2cm Flak 38 guns, machine guns, and a full WW2-era M18 Hellcat attached to the front. It was used in action multiple times, including in the Siege of Bihac, and when the Serb Krajina was near its collapse, it was scrapped by the Croat Serbs by being driven over a ravine. The locomotive that drove the train was the only car that survived, and it was recovered by Croat forces that de-militarized it for use in the civilian Croat railway system, where it is still used today
