Description The LeMat revolver is one of those beautiful guns that doesn't receive nearly as much attention as it should, so I took it for a spin.

This is not really my own design, but a modification of the original pin fire LeMat. It's kind of a "what-if" scenario, as in this is what would happen in my mind if the design had been updated in the same way that old Colt and Remington pin fire revolvers received cartridge conversions.
The model 1885 is chambered in the .44-calibre, and fires metallic cartridges as opposed to ball-and-cap. It's also modified and now is built as a break-top revolver like a Webley (The hinge is visible here, but the break-lever is on the other side). Possibly the most unique feature of the LeMat was its underslung shotgun, and that feature has remained as well but with its own renovations. Instead of loading it from the front with powder and shot, it is now built on a hinge so it can be broken open to the side and loaded with a 20 gauge shell. It's fired from a secondary trigger, the one placed in front of the primary trigger.
Other changed features include more modern sights and a strap along the top of the cylinder.Β
And ivory grips to feed that bender I'm on right now.

I like the rim-fire version.

This could have been real if Jean Lemat was able to gather more interest in the weapon after the civil war. Nicely done

So apparently there was actually a modification made on a LeMat to make it a break-action...

Deadlands:Β  Noir continued the LeMat line with a .357 Magnum version with a 16-Gauge Underbelly Shotgun that came out in 1935.Β  Already chose that as the "Heater" my protagonist will use if I ever write in the universe's era.

Oh sweet...you have any art of this weapon?

No, sorry, there wasn't much in the way of gear art in the book (And I loves me my gear porn!). Β Likely like the LeMat you've imagined, only beefy enough to be a magnum.

The LeMat is an awesome revolver. And it had a .20 barrel underneath.

I just love this revolver. I kinda wish to see drawing of how the shotgun part opened up though.
