Hey there y'all, I decided to draw Rainbow Dash in my sketchbook today. I'm not the greatest when it comes to traditional art, I tend to use a lot of dark shading in my pieces, and trying to retain some of the lightness is a bit hard, even with a kneaded eraser and using a piece of paper to keep my hand from smudging. Anyway, I'm sure that with practice, like all things, I'll get better at this. I spent literally about 2 hours working just on the linework, and another 2 or 3 shading. The pencils I used were an HB, 2B, and a 6B. (I use a 6B only for the darkest darks, mostly just use a 2B when shading and an HB for sketching.) I also used a mechanical pencil to help refine some stuff. I hope you guys like this piece, and I will be making it into a painting as soon as I can. Edit: It may appear a bit darker because of when I uploaded it to my computer and when I used photoshop to help me try to get a better image quality. I didn't want to make it to bright, so I had to settle for this right now to compensate for a bad contrast of the lights and darks.
