Description Holy CRAP guys my picture titles get more and more awesome by the minute, don't they?

(That was sarcasm, just in case you couldn't tell and you actually thought I thought that.)

So, as you all know I've been wanting to do more backgrounds in my drawings, because without backgrounds, we just have random space of nothingness. Or something. I dunno. Anyway, I've been enjoying drawing backgrounds, actually. It's fun to imagine what your characters living spaces look like, or where they are supposed to be when they are just standing around...

I've specifically wanted to practice more buildings and interiors of buildings, because this is a weak spot for me. I really regret never doing any real life drawing when I was younger; I probably would be much better at drawing backgrounds now if I did that but when I was younger I always drew characters and never really did all that much background stuff up until...well... probably recently. I'd draw things here and there of course but nothing particularly challenging.

Anyway. Enough about that. So I was just looking at this picture of a girl sitting on a hardwood floor (and we all know I love hardwood floors) and she was sitting near a really big window, and for the record I also really like big windows... So I was inspired. I hadn't drawn Molly for a while so I thought I'd draw Molly sitting on a floor near a big window! It was slightly more challenging since the girl in the picture I used for reference had a much different body shape than Molly so I kinda had to...improvise. So here is Molly just peacefully sitting on a hardwood floor in some comfy clothing. I just love gigantic sweaters so I always feel compelled to draw my characters in gigantic sweaters too, altho my initial thought was that this was actually a sweater dress, which, by the way, I also love. So here she is. I really liked how this one came out and I couldn't help but finish her.

I did this one this smaller sheet of mixed media paper I had. I bought this booklet of mix media paper a while back in a size I've never had before, and I hardly touched any of the sheets in the booklet so I thought I'd give it a go, since right now I'm trying to use up my sheets of paper instead of, you know, buying more. (For some reason if it's in a size or something I haven't had I SIMPLY MUST GET IT. Because as you all know, I have a serious paper problem.) And I've been really loving mixed media paper and couldn't help but use it for this one as well. Mixed media paper just works awesomely for like, everything. (...Probably why they call it mixed media paper *OBVIOUS JESS IS OBVIOUS.*....) So anyway. So anyway, I decided to draw Molly, and this is the end result. So here we have Molly, just sitting on a random floor, near a gigantic window. I'm to assume that that window is supposed to be like, a porch or patio window like the one I have in my apartment but I dunno. It doesn't really indicate that it is because you don't see like...another panel, making it look like a sliding window like patio windows are (if any of you actually know what I'm trying to say here...)

(But then again, even if I DID make the whole sliding glass thingie, it probably wouldn't look like one either so....)

It could just be a big floor to wall window, I suppose. I guess it doesn't really matter, I have no idea why I'm spending so much time talking about this..... XD Anyway, I was trying to draw the stuff that is outside and things, so like... other buildings and stuff, instead of just leaving them out of view or colouring the window a solid colour like I sometimes do. I just thought I'd be slightly more...exciting... I realize it looks a little silly, but I tried. There is also a part outside that is SUPPOSED to represent a patio. You probably can't tell, because, well, I fail, but it's there. And yes, I know everything looks kinda slanty. Again, we go back to the fact that I fail (either that or I live my life always walking sideways and stuff and I don't realize it? ) Anyhoo. I was trying something a little different with that window, see I wanted to make it look more.....windowy. So I tried to make things look more faded and stuff. So, I took some white watercolour paint and...just washed over it to see what would happen. Eventually I got something that I thought looked okay, and...well yes. That's what we came up with. I actually kinda like how it came out. I would have left it like it was before I added the paint on there but honestly it just didn't look right.

The wall back there was actually done with watercolour paints. I just took a colour I liked and did the wall that colour. For some reason I'm obsessed with lime greeny walls. I really have no idea. I just like how...bright and happy that colour is. Maybe I'll paint my walls that colour when I move into a place that will let me paint my walls.......I just think green is a happy colour. Happy like Bob Ross trees.

I usually, in the past, have done my wood panelled floors brown or some sorta brown colour, but in the picture I was looking at the floor was actually white...and I really, really, really, really really REALLY liked it. I just never thought of doing white woodpanelled floors before for some reason, so I thought I'd give it a whirl, and this was the result. I actually really like how the floor came out! I guess it looks more gray than anything but whatever.

And yes, I realize her tail looks kinda goofy and out of place (as most of my tails do, really.) but... I'm pretty sure in the initial drawing I forgot to add it so I just added one in there at the end. Don't you just love how it randomly jets out of her back, all like WHATEVER IMMA TAIL I DO WHAT I WANT!! Just bursting through her clothes like it ain't no big deal? LOL JESSFAIL.

Anyway, I actually like how this one came out. Her hair was fun to do. Whenever I draw Molly's hair I just tend to give her whatever hairstyle... Even tho she usually has her hair in braids. I always used to draw my characters the same way, all the time, including them having like, a signature outfit and everything. Basically like cartoon characters. But these days I like to give my characters different looks and things from time to time. I dunno, I feel it makes them look more believable or something. I dunno. I just like to have more fun with my characters now I guess than I did back when I first created them. So if I have a character with long hair I like to play around with thier style sometimes

So yes. Just a picture of Molly hanging out near a big window. Just something I wanted to finish that I thought came out well. I realize the city scape there could have turned out better (all of my city scapes can turn out better XD) but I still like how this one all came out

Mmmkay I'm out of interesting things to say but I think this is also the last one in my "must answer" pile... so I'll just say she looks gorgeous, as do the clothes, her hair, the lines, the colours, the whole durn thing. Classy!
