I know right? I always imagined Rumpelstiltskin much as he looks in OUAT.
I feel Rumpelstiltskin could have a true love, just not Belle or as Beast [I do love those two tho, just not here...]

Robert Carlyle’s acting is way above par. He steals the show every time he makes an entrance. There is just so much NUANCE he incorporates into his acting that gives the character an added depth that the other characters tend to lack.

Rumpelstiltskin and Mr. Gold have starkly different personalities, but with Rumpelstiltskin’s tragic detrimental storyline in FTL, you can see the core essence of his character peek through the veil of each facade he has, whether it be Storybrooke or Fairytale land.

Carlyle strings these two vibrantly different strands of the same character, and he weaves them together so masterfully, that one can easily believe that Mr. Gold, Rumpelstiltskin, AND the Dark One are all one and the same. It’s absolutely brilliant.

Meek cowardice, maniacal behavior AND soft spoken suavity all tied believably into one individual? Oh Lordy…What’s not to love about THAT?
