Description

Two wolves, never destined to even meet one another. Bending fate, they came together against the will of Lycus's Pack and fled, birthing children and raising them in a safe place.

Lycus -  Father - Alive - NPC
Lycus was born as the only son of Alpha Lyreum, in the pack of Galderwell, he deemed his heir and elevated above the pack. From the moment of his sons birth, Lyreum searched among his own pack, and others to find the perfect mate for his son. Finding a she-wolf among the neighboring pack of The Shiver Peaks, Lyreum worked with this fellow Alpha to plan an arranged marriage when his son reached the age of four years old. Meeting this female, by the name of Senica, Lycus tried his best to love this wolf as his father demanded. She was sweet, full of smiles enjoyable to be around, but she wasn't the wolf he knew was for him. Until he ran into a fiesty, dark pelted she-wolf in the depths of the Galderwell, a forest that dominated over half of the packs territory.

Trebellia - Mother - Alive - NPC
Trebellia was born to a pair of loners, doting parents who cared for their two children as best they could. Eventually she moved on, leaving their sides as she wished to no longer burden them. Stalking the outer reaches of the Galderwell forest, she lived peacefully and alone, avoiding the borders of the packs with ease. Until a harsh winter struck, and she was forced to steal food from the Galderwell pack to survive. A young male, perhaps only a few months older then herself caught her, but took immediate pity on the clearly hungry she-wolf. He offered to help her hunt, but only if she would do him the honors of sharing the kill with him.

Unsure of the male and his intentions but to hungry to argue, they pair managed to bring down a small, sickly doe. He allowed her to eat her fill first, setting across the snowy clearing and simply filling the air with idle chatter. His name was Lycus, a pack wolf from Galderwell. Face covered in the innards of her meal, she barely listened, but registered his questions about herself and why she was in the territory. finally full, she sat back, feeling a bit of shame for how much she'd eaten, leaving only a fraction of the deer for him. She apologized, and slowly began to open up, voice hoarse from the cold. She was Trebellia, a simple loner that had found herself trapped in the frozen winter, refusing to leave. She admitted she had done her best to avoid the wolves and Galderwell, and apologized yet again for her foray into the territory.

He simply passed it off with a chuckle and shook his head. "It's fine, i'm just glad it was me that found you, had it been my father, or another, you'd have been chased out. It was nice to meet you Trebellia." Still wary, but thankful for his kindness, she smiled for the first time in that cold winter evening. "Thank you, you are to kind Lycus." Finally she forced herself to leave, wishing Lycus well in his pack. She never planned to see him again, but for some reason, something brought her back to that border a few days later, and she saw him, pale pelt with those soft flashes of red. They met like this several times over the winter, and into the spring, growing closer and simply enjoying one another's company in the cold of the winter into into the warmth and bloom of spring.

But one day, Lycus did not show.

She waited several hours before she was forced to leave the border in search of a meal. She came again the next day, and the next, but to no avail, he did not show. Terrified for what might have happened to him, she struggled with what she should do. If she were caught within the border, the pack would certainly chase her away, but the idea of leaving him alone when he may need help made her sick. Finally, summoning her courage, she stepped over the border and began the trek into the Galderwell territory.

Tracking deep into the land, she avoided patrols of wolves, stalking her way through the brush until she came upon their den site. It was then that she heard it, the raised voices, one snarling and one begging. Hunkering down among the brush, she stared out.

Lycus was in the middle of the clearing, two larger wolves flanking him while another wolf, not so dissimilar in pelt to Lycus stood over him, teeth bared.

"I SAID NO LYCUS, YOU ALREADY HAVE A DESTINED MATE. IF YOU MENTION THIS LOWBORN SHE-WOLF AGAIN, I WILL BEAT HER MEMORY OUT OF YOUR MIND MYSELF!" They snarled, teeth clicking as their jaw snapped shut inches from Lycus's nose. He shrank back, tail tucked beneath himself as he looked away. "Y-yes father, I'm sorry. But please, promise me you will not harm her. She won't come here, you'll never see her. I will marry to Senica, I swear it on my life." He whispered, barely audible to Trebellia's ears. Horrified at the implications of what she was seeing, she knew she could not leave him to this. Waiting until the dead of night, she watched as Lycus was escorted into a thorny den across the clearing, a guard stationed at the den entrance.

Sneaking around the back of the den site, she began to press aside the thorns. Tears pooled in her eyes as they tore at her nose and face, but she pressed on until her face popped through. In then darkness, she could just see Lycus's form curled in the center of the den, pressing her face in as far as she could, she called out. Her voice was barely even a whisper, but Lycus's head snapped up, eyes wide and near instantly brimming with tears as he spotted her torn up muzzle smiling back at him.

"Trebellia, w-what are you doing here. It's not safe!" He whispered, pressed himself as close as the thorns would allow, eyes sad and fearful as she pressed her nose into his fur. "I came to rescue you, I heard what your father said this morning, I can't leaven you here Lycus, I-I love you, and I can't, I can't lose you!" Her voice shook as she spoke, and she heard the sad exhale from him as he deflated against her. He opened his maw to speak when a twig snapped at the entrance. Both of their heads snapped up, a golden she-wolf framed in the entrance, frowning softly at them both.

"S-Senica, I'-" He began, but was cut off.

"Don't try to apologize Lycus. I had the feeling this was the case, you've been distant as of late as it was. I do wish you had told me yourself, but my brother witnessed your fathers display this morning. I'm sorry you were treated that way." Her voice was surprisingly soft, little judgement as she dipped her head. "I will not ask you to stay for me Lycus, go with her, I can see it is where your heart lies." She finished, tail flicking behind her.

He stared for a long moment at her, face brimming with a mixture of sadness and hope. "Thank you Senica, I'm sorry, I wish..." He choked for a moment, shame clear in his face. "I wish I could have returned your feelings, your have been nothing but kind to me, and I will never forget what you've done for me today." His words brought a sad smile to her muzzle, and her eyes glanced between the two of them.

"Oh shut up you sap, and you." She spoke, voice gentle but hardening as she turned her blue eyes on Trebellia. "I do love him, but I will not keep him from his heart. Take care of him, and don't you dare betray him, ever. Now get out of here, I will buy you as much time as I can and I will try to keep them off your trail, but your father is no idiot. Go." She huffed out, before turning and striding from the den, leaving them to their lonsome. Neither dared to speak now, the gravity of their situation driving them to tear into the back of the thorn wall. They made quick work of it, and soon Lycus was pulling his haunches through. Together they ran, leaving behind the wrathful howls of his father and running, running as fast and as far as their paws would take them.

Together they would start a new life, far from the clutches of the Galderwell, finding a safe valley where they could build their own family.

WHEW, I didn't think I was going to write quite that much, but I really wanted to try and do her parents justice. I absolutly adore them, and eventually you may even see something about them pop up in the future? Anywho, if you made it this far, thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoyed <3
