Yeah I'm not sure there are any main character pairings I really get behind (Other than Phil and Klegghorn). But I figure by this point they'd all be rather close, certainly enough to be physically comfortable around each other, kinda like family members.

Yeah, I think you're right. They work as team, but when you try to imagine them as lovers (no matter what constellation) it feels kinda awkward. At least if you just think of the series. But with a little fantasy and modulation.. voilà, there is the lovey-dovey outcome you want.
