I've included the original prompt that Chautauquan submitted for his request (with his permission!) because -- my goodness -- it was twelve kinds of awesome!Prof. Echo may be many things, depending on who you ask: Mad Scientist, Social Genius, Fluffy Wuffy, or even Our Glorious Leader. But to Helieth, one of the staff from the Campus Library, Professor Echo is entirely something else -- a menace to good organization.
Does Prof. Echo have fines? Yes. Surely they're shoved in a drawer somewhere, all the notices hidden behind more important things like SCIENCE. Those aren't the issue. No, no no. The issue is far more dastardly and vile: Prof. Echo reshelves books herself. This breach of protocol has led to confusion and panic on the part of the poor librarians on more than one occasion, and finally, with the help of some cameras and a few spies lurking as casual readers, there is finally evidence to the wrong-doing.
This is where Helieth comes in. Sure, someone with "actual authority" or "responsibility" would be best suited to this task, but there were scary rumors from the lab and everyone voted to pull straws instead, because lightning habitually strikes Prof. Echo's lab followed by manic laughter. They aren't paid enough for this.
Helieth is shy and demure -- she loves the ability to just hide at home behind her shelving cart and in between the mobile shelves. When she enters the lab, she has a list of demands typed out to read aloud; unfortunately she somewhat stammers and mumbles through it.
"1. Stop reshelving without permission.
"2. Pay all fines, including the damages for unaccounted Sylveon bite marks on the last published paper by your rival, Dr. Lacey Ohchre.
"3. Release at least one Intern to the Library for regular... headpats?"
Obviously, the third demand was not one Helieth was anywhere near prepared to make -- or really understood at all. Naturally, it is this third option which really gets Prof. Echo's gears turning. Nobody said it needed to be one of her interns, technically... And nobody can prove those Sylveon bites came from her!

Prof Echo: Right, no, yeah. You can go in just a sec.
Helieth: N-no, I need you to sign this lett--
Prof Echo: What? Oh, no, stand over there, I can't hear you when you're right next to me.
Helieth: That doesn't make any--
Prof Echo: Just go stand over there, you're... um... I dunno, you're making me claustrophobic?
Helieth: Oh! Oh I'm so sorry, I'll move.
[Sounds of footsteps on scattered paper]
Helieth: Am I far enough away?
Prof Echo: Err, slightly to the left. No no, my left. Yeaaah, perfect.
Helieth: Well, the list... I need you to--
Prof Echo: Yeah, the list. You said the Sylveon bite thing -- which pfft, preposterous -- and the books on the shelves...
Helieth: Books on the wrong shelves.
Prof Echo: Yeah yeah. But what was the last thing...? No no, stay where you are.
Helieth: Er, you need to... uhm... "release an intern for headpats."
Prof Echo: An intern like you?
Helieth: Well, no, I'm not--
[Sound of DittoDex flashing!]

Emotion is always strong in your drawings--you manage to take account of it in each little detail--from posture, to the face, to the subtle flutter of the paper and the tearing of the stockings; you capture so much of a character you have only a small sample of with such grace and precision, I'm still blown away by it. The bulk of swelling arms and legs, shown with that gorgeous transparency on the stockings below? You keep things dynamic, the changes shown in subtlety from place to place, rather than immediate shift to one or the other--a great example in the teeth, where one side has upper fangs and the other has lower fangs.
You do so much to give us that glimpse of a moment, a reaction to something swift and unknown, which just makes it so much the better--and what's more, you always provide transcripts with these setups, which is like a bonus piece of art in and of itself! Your bright humor and your quick wit show in a light, uplifting sort of way; the energy is infectious and the effort you put into it so commendable. The fact that you're willing to share this with people for a request still blows me away completely. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for all you do.
