"Fine, I'll admit it. Detective Pikachu is actually a fun movie," Paresh said as the credits rolled. He reached into the nearly empty popcorn bowl on the couch beside him. He saw Emery scoot closer out of the corner of his eye and started to push the bowl to her, thinking that was what she was after. Instead, she turned and half-knelt sideways on the middle cushion of the couch, he faced her and gave her a quizzical look, wondering what she was up to. Emery leaned forward suddenly and grabbed his hand. The bowl tumbled to the floor, scattering popcorn.
"Em, watch out! You knocked over the-- Wha... what're you doing?" He'd gotten that look from other girls before, but this was Emery.
"I'm... rolling with it," she replied, with a smile in her voice...
