It's something called Photography. yes, it does take time. to get the right angle, lighting, and just the right time. but I somewhat agree with you, because they didn't take this photo, it belongs to someone else.

This is actually a painting by british artist Steven Townsend. He's my fave artist so I know this piece. Google him and you'll find it. Yes, it looks like a photo, his work is very realistic.
I doubt he'd be too happy at all about this being posted in here if the poster didn't state that it was his painting.
I wouldn't use this as a reference because that would also be infringing his copyright and you might get into trouble if he found out.

Even if you bought the painting, I'm sure he still holds the copyright for it unless you bought that as well which I don't think he would sell because he sells prints of this wolf painting all over the place. It would cost a hell of a lot to buy the copyright though and most artists aren't willing to sell the actual copyright of their paintings in most cases so even if you buy the painting, you are still bound by the copyright rules which still belong to the artist.
I'm sure he wouldn't mind so much if you just stated in the description box that it was a painting by him and give a link to his website or something.
