Even though Dislestia is more popular romantic ship I always thought that LunaCord should have been more of the popular romantic ship for Discord (next to FlutterCord, of course) because it makes so much more sense than Dislestia story-wise because Discord and Luna are both reformed villains and they needed to be around more creatures that have been through what they went through because that will help them feel less of a monster if they are around more creatures that have also been reformed as well.

Also, some people might have thought that Sombra was the reason why Luna became Nightmare Moon years ago but I honestly think it have made a lot more sense if Discord was the reason why Luna became Nightmare Moon or at least Discord was the one that planted the idea in Luna's head hat her sister was getting more attention than her. I think that makes more sense because Discord tried to ruin the Mane 6's friendship for each other so they couldn't use the Elements of Harmony against and because of that it makes sense that he would also try to ruin Luna's friendship with her sister so at least some the Elements of Harmony will not be used against. So, Discord making Luna believes that her sister is more loved by their subjects than her would have made perfect sense more than Sombra doing that because Luna and Celestia didn't use the Elements of Harmony against him and I also think that Sombra would more likely would have tried to make Celestia his queen because it makes more sense that Sombra would be more after the oldest sister that has much more experience of ruling a kingdom to be his queen.

So, in other words I feel that Discord x Luna and Celestia x Sombra are two romantic ships that would have made more sense than Discord x Celestia and Luna x Sombra story-wise.

And seriously the writers of MLP: FIM REALLY missed an oppotunity of having Discord having a bond with Luna because again they could so easily bond over that they would both reformed villains and again that would be good for both Discord and Luna. The idea of Discord also having a strong bond with Luna also had such potential but for some reason it didn't happen....

Plus, Dislestia just seem that would bring out the worst out of Celestia because I'm pretty sure that Celestia would make a VERY bad influence towards Discord because in the episode "Make Friends But Keep Discord" Princess Celestia not just seemed pretty okay with Discord literally almost forcing another pony to go into another dimension but she also seems surprisingly happy about it too!

And unlike Celestia Luna would be a much better influence for Discord to be a better good guy because it was revealed that in the episode "Between Dark and Dawn" that Luna prefers much more down-to-earth things than Celestia does which is something that discord needs more of to be a much better good guy.

So, LunaCord is a REALLY good romantic ship because Luna and Discord are different which would be good for enough because they would balance each other out but they still also have some things in common with each other as well which would also be good for them.
