hah I didn't even consider Luigi's role. Yes, I think your vision is spot on though. Maybe that's why he didn't appear in Mario 64, got a little out of line then had a little accident.

I imagine that's how it went.

And then when he was filthy rich and after 7 or 8 drunken 'Mario Parties', Mario tossed Luigi his sloppy seconds in the form of Mario 64 DS. He made him share it with Yoshi and Wario at the same time, for added humiliation.
