I was hoping to show off the 4th member of Team GRAY before RTX2016, but things didn't go exactly as planned. Fortunately I am able to show off Galatea's weapon, the Hollowed Hourglass. Originally Galatea was gonna gave some type of katana, but then I thought that would be too easy, so I went more with more of a brutish polearm. When I first came up with how her weapon design, it was just simple polearm that looked similar to how it does now, but then I was like "Eh... This isn't RWBY enough..." so then I was like "What if... I just slapped on some thrusters so it'll be easier for her to kill things." And that's how we got this big stick of murder. When working on this commission Limbonix was the one to have the idea for that epic glowing effect, which I was in love with the second I saw it.This is apart of “Shattered Fantasies” a RWBY fan-made manga that will run in two simultaneous parts for the first volume with some crossovers. One part will focus on Team KBLT, and the other will focus on Team GRAY, both are from Beacon.
KBLT is a team of second year students, lead by Ken Kopper. They are entered into a special program that lets them take on lower level Hunter missions more regularly than other students. Together they’ll travel together, through Sanus, fighting Grimm (some fan-designed), and villainous people.
GRAY is a first year team comprised of all Faunus students. Led by Galatea Platinum. In their lives they have dealt with discrimination and hate in some way during their lives. These experiences have shaped them all for who they are today. Now they are brought together, and will fight in order make the world a better place.
After Volume 1, these two parts will come together for one story in Volume 2.

I'll be waiting, meanwhile I need to try to work on the characters for my own fanfic, and outline the plot that I may or may not need assistance with, as it's going along the Canon Timeline.

An awesome weapon...though it makes me think it would also be a kick ass weapon for the Monster Hunter games.

polarms are a bit underrepresented in the rwby-oc scene, so that already gives it some cooless points. glow and trusters are a good combo for a manga becouse you can make some nice trailing effects to indicate motion or dramatic light-ups of the weapon. the weapon does have a pretty 'nasty' look that the outfit does not share, but I think I'l wait on that since we still don't know her personality of history

Admittedly the reason her weapon and outfit don't match to well is because I had came up with the design for Galatea a year ago, when I wasn't actually going to do a full on story for Team GRAY (I might planned out a few short stories but I forget them mostly), and back then her weapon was a katana. When I decided to do a 2 sided web manga series for RWBY, I also decided that I'd bring GRAY back and use them for one of the sides, which also meant I went though to redesign the characters. Most of the team went over major overalls, like Rathe was gonna have this sort fancy suit where she had slacks, button up shirt, tie, stripped vest, and leather gloves. Alyce still had a kimono, but they had full length sleeves also she had these cargo pants, and her hair was a dark blue. Galatea is the only character that mostly stayed the same cause I really liked what I came up with her, but I still wanted to change the weapon. Now I said in the description that I didn't do the katana cause I thought it was too easier, but the other reason was because I realized "Hey... RWBY already has two Faunas characters that dress in black and use katanas... I should probably do something different." Which is what led me to making the Hollowed Hourglass.
Although this was just a design flub on my part, there's some stuff in the story that will help justify the mismatch. Initially the stuff wasn't actually meant to justify her weapon/outfit, it was just stuff I added in, but then I realized it could justify it with that stuff, so it was kinda a happy accident. (I understand that may of sounded confusing but I was trying to explain while also trying to not give any spoilers XD)

I was thinking more of why is it a red and irregular-shaped rocket poleaxe instead of a black/grey and smoother/more geometrical-shaped rocket poleaxe if you catch my drift.
but if it serves the story, go ahead, Im not your boss, contrasting styles on a same character can work, like every character in 'highlander' ever or krusty from log horizon who has smooth blue armor and a sligtly demonic red axe(it's not a violent as Galatea but it's noticiable).
side note: so glad you did alyce like how she is now, kimono's have been done quite a bit, and they don't meld well to cargo pants >.< although a kind of short-tempered, dust-manipulating ram faunus dressed as a classic chicago mobster doesn't sound that bad

Well Rathe's outfit was changed cause I changed her role on the team, originally she had two pistols, but I came up with a better weapon which I'm hoping to show soon. Also I should mention that she doesn't manipulate dust. The Dust Clips (I actually prefer them to be called Dust Cells, but I forgot to ask Limbonix to change it before I posted it) are used for her weapon, but you'll see that when ever I reveal her weapon.
And I'm still hoping to try out the Kimono and cargo pants with a future character design (Probably not a RWBY OC). I haven't seen that look before so I can't say I like it or not, but the way I picture it in my head I think it'd be cool.
