A cryptic image, the profile and movement are great. It seems more that she is leaving innocence and moving on than returning to it.
I imagine the shadows as memories of childhood playmates that she can no longer see clearly in her mind's eye. Maybe the content of the frame is her only tangible reminder. Maybe the image therein is the return.

I agree with the previous commenter, visual poetry indeed, as is your whole gallery. You tell stories from your very own world and I truly admire such skill
When I see this picture and the title to it, I associate this "returning to innocence" (which in itself may have multiple meanings) with returning to a state of mind and soul which is completely blank - not void, this would be something different - like in the very first seconds of our lives, sort of, but also in a higher spiritual meaning. Funnily enough, I often thought about this lately, that I would like to perceive things once again with a mind completely cleared out of any imprint whatsoever, without the natural prejudice, that we as humans attain in the course of our lives, if we want it or not. I think many are not aware, that we would not be what we are, as a human race and the individual, if it wasn´t for our experiences, and experiences are stored in our memory and recalled, alongside certain emotions, mostly subconsciously, when facing different situation, and then emotion leads our way. So I also mean a broader meaning of "prejudice" than the classical, profane one, like "racial prejudice" or so. That´s what the human in white blanket and the blank mirror convey to me. And there are more ideas to it, but I don´t want to spam and this is the main concept of mine.
On the one hand, I´d like to return to such a state again, on the other hand: I doubt art -- the "beaux arts" in particular -- would be possible without all these imprints of emotion and memory, because --- what would I associate then with a picture as this? It would be void of meaning to me. Would a human without his personal imprints in his soul ever feel the urge to create such pieces as this? .... Just rhetorical questions, maybe you´d find it interesting to dwell upon that
Must add: whether I detected the concept you had in mind or not --- it´s just brilliant!
