For anyone who thinks I look like jail bate in this picture, I'll have you know I'm 22 and the character I'm cosplaying is assumed to be of age.Title and inspiration for this picture I owe to CrimsonSun and his deviation [link]
I just loved the idea, so I went for it. I hope he doesn't mind, I'm not trying to steal his creation, rather I was moved to do my own shot in response.

Actually, I think a general theme for this shoot (more photos to come) would be enticing someone to make a move. I showed the photos to a friend after I took them and asked if he thought it looked ok, like if I looked decently male and hopefully not like a 12 year boy. He said the pictures looked like a younger man, old enough, but still young, trying to get an older lover's attention and keep it.

Who would it be? This question forms the core of many a fanfic. Interesting power dynamics.
Personally I think it always has to be Rufus - at least, until he's President. An invitation sufficiently unmistakeable to entice Tseng into making a move would, I think, count as the first move. Tseng's actually the one with more real power and authority, and if he were to make the first move without any invitation on Rufus's part, it would feel too much like coercion, and be creepy and abusive, and thus not protective and not Tseng-like at all. Though I think I'm straying into head-canon there.

Oh I don't mind, I think it's fascinating to hear your interpretation. I love how different fans of the same characters and pairings can each see things slightly differently. Actually, when I first met Sai from GA IRL we were hanging out in my hotel room like girls at a slumber party talking about pairings and one of the first thing that came up was how we each saw relationship dynamics.
We discussed who would be the more "dominant" one in the relationships. Personally, I see Rufus as the sort of person who would be in control and calling the shots while at the same time submitting. I think as someone who knows his destiny is to always be in control and in charge would want to let go and trust in someone else to take charge. Of course, this would only be with someone he could trust absolutely, like Tseng. Along with that, I agree that Rufus would push Tseng to make the first move, but in reality would be making the first move himself by doing so.
I also love how you explain the dynamic. Honestly, I never liked the Rufus/Tseng pairing before I read what you wrote because I couldn't get over the age and power difference. I could see a parental dynamic but not a a romantic dynamic. However, you totally changed my mind about the pairing working, and I think you were able to sell it so well (to the extent that I've seen non slash fans say they like it) because you're conscious of how to make the dynamic work. Tseng can't be the one who's pursuing Rufus, it has to be mutual, with Rufus as the one who inverts and pursues which sort of inverts the power dynamic. Honestly, your incite into that is brilliant.

Thanks! Yeah, I used plain duck tape, and it actually worked great and wasn't that painful at all. In fact, I found it more comfortable than wearing a professional binder (think tight sports bra built to compress) which is what I generally do.
